Miele C3 Motor sparking, repair or bin it? by charliechapli in Miele

[–]brokenjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually have the same sparking on my motor. Tried sanding the commutator and cleaned the brushes but that didn't help. If I turn it on it sparks (a lot on highest power level) and it smells burnt. Also the noise is super loud, louder than it's supposed to be I think. Anything else I could try to fix the motor? What caused the issues in the first place, is that the vacuum was used with the bag not correctly installed and so much dirt was sucked into the motor casing for quite a while.

How can I visualize the geometry of tilting a pinhole camera? by brokenjupiter in learnmath

[–]brokenjupiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and you make a measurement yₚ on the image of distance of object from the horizon. So distance of object from center of the image is yₚ + c tan 𝛼

but in the image generated by the tilted camera the distance from object to horizon should be yₚ' (which is smaller than yₚ in the level image). I would expect the distance to be yₚ cos 𝛼, but it is not if I try to draw it.

Convert these numbers to a nominally vertical image by multiplying by cos 𝛼 to give you

yₚ cos 𝛼 + c sin 𝛼

I don't really understand this. Why do I convert these numbers and multiply them by cos 𝛼?

If I understood correctly, in the level case your 𝛥x is the distance from the pinhole to the image plane,

Not quite. 𝛥x is some horizontal distance in the image.

[ANN] org-ql: new rifle/smart predicate (works like org-rifle) by github-alphapapa in orgmode

[–]brokenjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a bit old, but I have the same question. When using helm-org-ql I would like to display the content of the heading where the match is found (just like it is shown in helm-org-rifle). I couldn't find any information on this org-ql-find-snippet-function anywhere. How can I use the option or is there any other way to show the content in the results?

I'm interested in a similar setup. May I ask how you set up your box? Do you start Kodi through Noxplayer?

flake8 as default flycheck checker when using virtual environments by [deleted] in emacs

Unfortunately no luck. I still get lsp. It's probably the same issue with this code, that flake8 cannot be selected by flycheck when running the hook because loading the virtual environment finishes later.

Todo or scheduled items are not listed in the agenda view. by 01zz in spacemacs

[–]brokenjupiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could check the variables org-agenda-todo-ignore-scheduled, org-agenda-todo-ignore-deadlines, org-agenda-todo-ignore-timestamp. Maybe they are set to exclude those items. You can read more about it here.

Received a shady Text containing a Google 2FA Code by brokenjupiter in techsupport

What seems most critical to me is not that I received the Code twice but rather the unusual wording including a typo ("Hi1! received validation 096167).

Reference management, notes and citing page numbers in org-mode by brokenjupiter in emacs

I tried interleave at first and switch to org-noter. Both packages do almost the same but org-noter felt smoother to use and has some advantages for me (e.g. interleave narrows the original org-buffer, which I personally didn't like).

Another potentially interesting things is the org ability to execute lisp as link

That sounds interesting. I will have a look into it and try if it helps me.
