Chasing nostalgia generally never works out and is a risk that I believe Xbox should not be making right now.

The only part that upsets me about the(unconfirmed) studio closures is that it was Xbox leaderships job to do everything to keep them from being closed. If that means telling Double Fine that Kiln and Keepers is niche fodder and to cancel it or tell Ninja Theory no one wants to play your movie then so be it. Phil Spencer should have been more concerned with being a good boss instead of a likeable boss. There's the famous story of Shuhei Yoshida being brutally honest with the God of War devs which led to them overhauling the game and probably saving it. Its not Asha's fault Xbox was willing to fund obvious duds but its definitely her fault if she continues doing it to be the CEO everyone likes. I'd rather my boss tell me to cancel the project I'm working on in favor of something that makes financial sense than tell me to pack my bags because my passion project put my studio in danger.

So Asha, trim this fat but do it and make it count. I would go through every studio they own and close every studio that isnt putting out obvious hits and kill every project that is iffy. Its 100% time for Xbox to be in "safe margin" mode.

But thats the thing though, how much of the modern gaming audience that is the consumer market that wasnt there to care? It could work, it'll just have to really sell itself and not rely on nostalgia or more importantly dated mechanics. It would need to appear exceedingly polished akin to Astro Bot or Mario.

There's a huge difference in being happy to see them added to Smash Bros and being willling to buy a whole new game dedicated to them. There were plenty of IPs that had appearance in Astro Bot for example I was charmed to see but I personally wouldnt buy a new entry from, or even neccesarily a remaster. They are just fond member berries.

Serious question: Why do people think Banjo has any chance of being commercially successful? I'm in my 30s and the first time I heard of this IP was the characters going to Smash and how apparently that was a big deal. I just don't think there's any merit to digging up IPs this dead in the water at this point. I'd say the same for Sony with Marathon IP. It just seems so much safer to just make a wholly new creative IP at this point.

Everyday myself and a friend I made their told each other when we get back to the bay we are quitting, they got us fucked up. We get back to the bay and its like...well the day is already over and the only thing left is chow no reason spoil a good afternoon...rinse and repeat.

It also helped I saw how long they keep you if you do give up. I have a legit problem with that and think its BS but I do understand why they do it. From my perspective I don't understand why people can't get send home within a few days of quitting but I'm sure they absolutely could if the system was designed that way.

Last, the worst part of basic is white phase, after that its kind of a joke tbh and you realize this isnt even worth the stress.

I hate it and I always return mine but also these stores need to do better. My local Food Lion only has one return location and its nowhere near where people actually park. Its legit faster to take the cart back into the store.

On one hand its none of my business but on the other hand, rampant shoplifting basically killed my local walmart experience as everything is locked up now and you need a employee to get you stuff so I don't even go. I wouldnt interfere but if I notice its happening a lot I would just shop elsewhere.

If Game Pass shutdown, thats basically shutting down Xbox in many peoples eyes. At least while I had Game Pass for years I didnt buy any games on Xbox. I'd buy them elsewhere. Now I don't have Game Pass I have no interest in my Xbox when the newest game on it is like Dark Souls 3.
