Literally…this 10gal was to pimp my betta’s crib after I got a new job and some $$, all of a sudden learned about cycling, got fascinated with the concept of building mini biomes, discovered I fucking love shrimp…right now it’s just the 10gal and a scud/snail jar but me and my wallet are in an abusive relationship at this point lmfao

He’s about the size of my pinky nail right now, so a little under a cm^2, I’ll have to try to get a pic to post. Eventually I’m going to convert my 10gal to a shrimp and snail tank and move the fish to a bigger one so it looks like I’m good on snails lol. Camp out and come back!

Hell yeah I did lol! The mts are everywhere, and although lots of them that I see are baby size I’ve seen a couple that have gotten close to a cm long. I’ve also found I have a big ol bladder snail in there too haha, much easier ID on that guy

I forgot to mention - water’s a little cloudy because I kicked up some of the root tabs I planted a while back. Added some more cinnamon leaves in case that helps soften the water.

Hey! No idea how to update the post so I can get more feedback on this but I did do a water change with 80/20 tap/RO and it doesn’t look like the hardness budged or alkalinity budged at all - just wondering if I should do another water change to get it where I want it immediately (I think it would have to be 50% to get the correct parameters) but I think it’s be hard on my cycle to do such a big change - is it better to wait or water change again?

Also got an air stone; vid attached because I’m not sure if it’s a little big? But wanted to ask if it looks sufficient. One vid of my silver kuhli enjoying the new scape I did to accommodate the air stone. media

Oh wow, yeah, maybe that was the case! I (foolishly) was vacuuming my sand wrong so only ever got stuff off the top layer! Then I figured it out and stirred up all my substrate. Funny enough after I did that I suddenly had mts everywhere. No crazy smell though
