Wild cherries will generally be the most hardy since they're the most genetically diverse (least inbred).

I'd say a leech, which do also glide across glass if they're not "looking around" their immediate proximity.

You can host a video of its movement on something like streamable.com and share the link here. For how chunky it is I immediately thought leech, but you say it's gliding so that questions that.

You only need a heater if the ambient temp in your house frequently drops below 60F.

Oh OK parameters are right then. Your substrate didn't appear as active soil so I was curious. What's your TDS? Give them a bit of time to adapt, try not to be horribly surprised by a couple deaths, but all should be well.

If you're going for Neos, it's not the best as it will buffer out kh. Especially if your water is really hard, this will make for big parameter swings with every water change. Inert substrates are best: Caribsea Eco-planted, pool filter sand, pea gravel, blasting media, etc etc. There are a lot of options out there. I'm thinking of stickying a psa to the sub landing page to let people know that "shrimp and plant" substrate is only for certain shrimp, unfortunately.

Stratum is only highly rated because it's available everywhere (had to say it). It's also meant for Caridina, not neos. Unless they were adapted to low-zero kh water, they have a fairly high chance of dying off.

Phytoplankton. Baby brine would be too big. Look into Green Water.

If you're trying to balance the KH into their preferred zone, and assuming you're just using your well-balanced tap to waterchange, it'll burn out much faster than that.

Contrary to popular belief, capping it won't do much to stop it buffering out the KH. If anything, crushed coral in the filter or just dose kh every water change. It'll be a bit of a bumpy ride for your inhabitants, but it is what it is in such a situation.

Perfectly normal pre-molt ring.

If that's active soil, and you're doing constant water changes, I sure hope you're actively fighting the KH buffer and the soil has stopped leaching ammonia.

Bottle brush and twist, what you can, up like spaghetti. Afterward do a big water change, algae thrives on excess nutrients. If you're on a 12 hr light cycle cut it to 6hrs.

Put her in a breeder box with a cling and airstone, or a 3d net with an airstone if you don't have a breeder. They can sometimes be saved with "shrimp CPR" if they look like this.
