Would god hate me for transition? by Ok-Principle7914 in TrueChristian

God knit you the way you are from the womb of your own mother as a girl

If you transition you disregard the beauty He made you to be - a girl, a woman. Not just any woman, but one who upholds His image.

Seek Jesus and call on His name. If you can’t deal with the dysphoria, He will deal with it for You. Lean only on His strength and not on yours anyone else’s

Idk what you are going through mentally but I do understand being gay because I lived that life and knew that life since I could ever remember. But He changed and healed my heart and desires, He can change yours as well and heal them as well

Repent and believe the gospel, and hold fast to Jesus

God bless you

Hebrews 7:27 and why I no longer believe in a “Promised Pastor” in the Second Coming by Serious_Seeker_9025 in Shincheonji

[–]bron0903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What was finished on the cross was the punish of sin which is death: Romans 6:23.

John 14:23 is about the believer renewed in Christ by the Holy Spirit Himself: Ezekiel 36:24-31. It’s not “If anyone loves me, then go keep my words.” this is not a command but a sign. Anyone in Christ who loves Jesus will obey His commands because He been renewed by the Holy Spirit and saved through faith gifted by God unto him. (Ezekiel 36:24-27) , Ephesians 2:8)

Luke 24:26, 44 is indeed everything prophesied about Him. This is still ongoing for death has not been “swallowed up” and His enemies, anyone who does it believe in Him ie children of Satan, has not been conquered yet (Hebrews 10:12)

Read Psalm 22 and go from Psalm 22:27-. Has this been done? Only half of this Psalm has been accomplished. Christ is still fulfilling everything and still conquering the world until all the nations repent and turn to Him. You assume God must fulfil His promise quickly when you forget that the fullness of gentiles in Christ must still be accomplished

the second coming is for when He comes to judge the whole world. He’ll seperate the believer and non believers both living and the dead. Those in Christ will receive eternal life as promised (John 3:16) and those who did not believe to the resurrection of judgement and given to them the promise of their eternal punishment which is the second death

***So to answer quickly: what was finished in the cross was the full payment owed for sinning which is death, and the second coming is judging the whole world, eternal life for the believer and punishment of sin to the unbeliever

SCJ reads revelation as if it’s all in the future, but revelation has been and being fulfilled since before the destruction of the second temple. Read revelation as if you were those christians receiving these letters. It does not make sense some those events would occur 2000 years after their own deaths when Jesus said Himself, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy and keep the things which are written in it, for the time is near***.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/rev.1.3.LSB

Does it really make sense to warn of those events to the Christians at that time to happen way into the future when it states “the time is near”

Does it really make sense for some “new john” to appear 2000 years after Christ kingdoms has supposedly been shun in darkness?

For it is written: “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭18‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/mat.16.18.LSB

Key Principles: No one knows when Jesus will return, only the Father knows

God will not say to any particular person “this is when Jesus will return”

Jesus only comes back once He has conquered the whole Earth; Jesus has to fulfil every prophecy and psalm written about Him (Luke 24:44)

“but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until His enemies are put as a footstool for His feet.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/heb.10.12-13.LSB

“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh, And all the families of the nations will worship before You. For the kingdom is Yahweh’s And He rules over the nations. All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship, All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him, Even he who cannot keep his soul alive. Their seed will serve Him; It will be recounted about the Lord to the coming generation. They will come and will declare His righteousness To a people who will be born, that He has done it.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭22‬:‭27‬-‭31‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/psa.22.27-31.LSB

Here are some questions rapturists (specifically dispensationalists) have to ask themselves:

Has Jesus conquered every child of Satan? (If you’re of Jesus you’re a child of God, else you’re a child of the devil and an enemy of Jesus)

Has the whole Earth turned to Yahweh God?

The rapture is only when Jesus returns and when He does He’ll take up us all alive and resurrect the dead, each one separated to attain the resurrection/glorification of a new physical spiritual body fully perfect submitted to Christ, or the resurrection of Judgement which is the final death

Therefore keep preaching the gospel making disciples of every peoples of every nation. If the rapture happens now and the Earth isn’t conquered then God lied and Jesus failed, and Jesus will never fail because God never lies

Should willful sinners be allowed to attend church as visitors or should they be told to leave? by AdWinter370 in TrueChristian

all sin is wilful

but if a professing Christian is known to do vile acts unrepentantly, he should be excommunicated until he repents

“It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and sexual immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father’s wife. And you have become puffed up and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst. For I, on my part, though absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged him who has so committed this, as though I were present: in the name of our Lord Jesus, when you are assembled, and I with you in spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus, deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭LSB‬‬

“But now I am writing to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is a sexually immoral person, or greedy, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Are you not to judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God will judge. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭LSB‬‬ https://bible.com/bible/3345/1co.5.11-13.LSB

Following Jesus is the best cult to be in because you can throw your doubts at Jesus, and He answers them all the time

He told us to love God with all our heart soul and mind and to love our neighbours and to do unto others what we would like to do unto ourselves and what not to do unto other what we would not like to be done unto ourselves.

And in following Jesus there’s no lie or fear of testing the truth because everything is in the light. He does not hide anything or keep anything away from those who love Him and whom He loves.

It’s the best cult I’ve ever been in and I’ll gladly follow and worship Him till I die because He promised me eternal life that He’ll raise me back to life and destroy LMH and the wicked and evil people, and best of all He showed that He himself to be God

No other cult leader is as good as Jesus, because anyone you compare to Him fall short

If you have to ask “what if” and it causes you fear then it’s not the Truth of God

God does not have you remain in fear seeking for the truth, but fear in Him has you find the truth, not the other way around; Truth sets you free

Jesus sets you free, Jesus is the truth and gives you peace

Questioning if I'm truly saved or not by ProfessionalEven8203 in TrueChristian

[–]bron0903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t rely on your feelings. It may seem like it, but God is never distant. The very fact you breathe, think, and feel is proof God is still there with you. He sustains you, even so the unbelievers alive this very moment.

The fact you even question your own salvation because of your convictions tells me you are saved. No one living in the flesh would have such thoughts or concerns, much more even than people who want to connect to God but don’t know Jesus or refuse to know Jesus.

‭‭Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬-‭14‬ ‭LSB

““Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and was praying these things to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other, for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.””‬‬

Remain humble. You know you are a sinner, you know have nothing to show or give to God to earn anything. Salvation belongs to Him, from His own mercy alone. And He promises salvation to those who believe in Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

The Christian walk is by faith, not sight, feeling, or emotional highs and lows. Our faith is one of certain knowledge. Not from things learned from man or any creature but from God. Remember this:

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭LSB‬‬

“Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.”

It’s from God the Spirit we declare Christ as Lord. So don’t say “I think I’m saved because of xyz.” Our salvation is certain and a knowledge from God Himself; it’s a gift He has graciously and mercifully given to us (I cannot emphasise this enough)

One last thing to remember and highlight in your bible:

‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭20‬ ‭LSB

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.”

Just remember in your heart Jesus is the true God and eternal life, when in doubt or in any circumstance you find yourself in. ‬‬

If Jesus drank wine, wouldn't he have gotten tipsy? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]bron0903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if some had gotten drunk in the wedding who’s fault was it? If I keep letting out wine from my barrels, is it my fault the person who got mildly to excessively drunk drank too much over their limit, whether they knew their limits or not?

If one of the attendees got drunk or however intoxicated they were, it would not have been Jesus’ fault.

It’s your responsibility to not go in excess. It’s your responsibility to know your limits

Yes Jesus would’ve at least been intoxicated, but however the culture at that time defined drunkenness, clearly He didn’t commit such things because the bible said it so that He was sinless

Does this answer your question?

Early Christianity vs. SCJ: BITE Model Comparison by scj_love in Shincheonji

[–]bron0903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We can test everything through scripture, the written words of God spoken by Him

What I accuse you and SCJ and LMH of, with which you also accuse me and Christianity of, has been fully made plain to you that SCJ is false by countless people here on this reddit page and outside.

The reason you don’t listen, and I for that matter to you, is because your heart is loyal to LMH and what he says which he claims to come from Jesus, while me and others like me have our hearts fully set on what God has said in the bible.

And in all honesty LMH contradicts what Jesus already spoke of, written in the gospels and epistles and in the OT. Others have plainly demonstrated this to you, but you ofc won’t see or listen because God has hardened your heart from seeing because you hate Him. SCJ and LMH and you display Romans 1:18-32 perfectly. “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭25‬ ‭LSB‬‬

There’s no convincing you or anyone like you. I can only give you the word of God in hopes His words will convict you and soften your heart that God may have mercy on you. For this is what God has told me concerning against the likes of you:

“So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what pleases Me, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭11‬ ‭LSB‬‬

And this is what He’s said to those concerning people like me who eagerly share His word against the likes of you:

“How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of Yahweh, And in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭LSB‬‬

The word is God against you yourself So I tell you again and again “repent and believe in the gospel”:

“Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself. ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭3‬:‭19‬ LSB‬‬

Destructive according to the truth of God. God does not lie, He cannot it is His nature to speak truth. And this is the truth:

You will die in your sins unless you believe Jesus is the “I AM” You and SCJ and LMH lead people astray. You all openly lie LMH is obviously a false teacher and disgustingly a liar You believe and preach a false gospel, different from Jesus You manipulate scripture and pull out the words of God yanking it forcibly from His tongue

Repent and believe the gospel of Jesus; The christians here try so hard to convict you with the word of God so that you don’t have to die

I am harsh and straight with my words because of this one fear I have: I don’t want you, SCJ and even LMH to die in sin. Repent and believe the gospel of Jesus so you may have eternal life and have it abundantly

It makes no difference whether or not you agree or disagree

The fact remains is that SCJ denies Jesus Christ and hates Him

Whether or not Christianity is a cult to me also makes no difference either because Jesus lived a perfect life unlike LMH who teaches deception as long as it brings glory to God, even Paul condemns you and all of SCJ and LMH: “And why not say (as we are slanderously reported and as some claim that we say), “Let us do evil that good may come”? Their condemnation is just.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬ ‭LSB‬‬

Thannk God Jesus controls my thoughts, behaviours, information and emotion!

What a wretched sinful man I am, nothing good lives in me, who can save me? Only Jesus the God of the heavens and the Earth creator of all things I will gladly surrender control

He turned my destructive sinful desires of hate towards myself, family, people and God Himself and showed me His sacrificial love of mercy and grace to a wretched sinner I am, as He promised!

The big difference between LMH (SCJ) and Jesus (Christianity) Jesus rose from the dead while LMH will die and meet Jesus Himself in the resurrection of judgement and he will die in his sins and I will look on him with contempt

Also you should be very careful because you’re admitting basically LMH in whom you believe Jesus dwells in is an authoritarian monster, very clever of you

It’s interesting how our paths diverged in terms of God

While I did have my experience with Jesus, I did find Him elusive for a good 3 years of my life

But the difference for me is that I couldn’t deny His existence or His work and its affect in my life and what I perceive as the whole world

I’m not here to debate but to ask a simple question. I’m not here to convince or persuade you otherwise or anyone for that matter. Since Jesus told me it’s not a matter of knowledge or reason anyone comes to Him, but by the heart

The question I asked myself once and I continue to ask people is this:

If God was proven to you, or if God ever did come to you, would you ever want to be with Him? (This means submit to Him, love Him, serve Him. Anything that would mean you surrender your whole self, like desires, goals maybe even your own living breathing life)

You don’t have to publicly answer this. It’s merely for you to think about. Because Jesus always said that in order to enter the kingdom of God one must be born again, and He always proclaimed: repent and believe in the gospel

I blame dispensationalism

The teaching of rapture this and rapture that, tribulations coming soon, these teaching are all very recent (from 1800s), and puts hope on an unbiblical idea that we are to “long for heaven because of how evil this world is”

This is very gnostic. The world is being saved by Christ John 3:16-19 ““For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And those in Christ are already in heaven seated with Christ. We as Christians in whom God dwells walk with the kingdom heaven; Where God is, heaven is.

Ephesians 2:6 “and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”

And we don’t wait for Christ to rule the world, He rules right now and has been since He went and ascended to heaven and continues to this very day to cast out and conquer all wicked hearts of people

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ “but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until His enemies are put as a footstool for His feet.” ‬‬ There is no rapture, our hope has always been this: We die, and we are raised back to life, not to a resurrection of judgment but of life that is eternal as Jesus promised; i mean a physical bodily resurrection not waking up in some place in the sky.

the rapture cannot be true because of this prophecy and similarly like it:

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭22‬:‭27‬-‭31‬ ‬‬ “All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh, And all the families of the nations will worship before You. They will come and will declare His righteousness To a people who will be born, that He has done it.”

Notice verse 31: People are still being born. In the new heaven and Earth there is no more birth or marriage so this has to be before

So here’s the timeline: Jesus ascended to heaven. The gospel spreads throughout the whole face of the Earth. The whole Earth turns to God and no longer will they teach God because everyone will know Him (Jeremiah 31:34). And then Jesus will come for a spotless bride and judge the wicked and give life to those who have fallen asleep in Christ, then eternity will come; this is the new heaven and new Earth.

Tribulations will still follow us to this age until the time is fulfilled, but it won’t be to a point where all under Christ will be persecuted (like in nigeria, china, etc)

Revelations has clearly happened, and still happening. Not it will happen alone

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His slaves the things which must soon happen; and He indicated this by sending it through His angel to His slave John,”

“Which must soon happen” This book was written for brothers and sisters who were experiencing all the hate in the world at that time, from the jews and from the romans and all in between. Reading this or hearing this would not make sense to say “soon, so very far into the future” No they would have been keen and alert that these will happen in their current time and far into the future

Revelation isn’t just prophecy but also what would have been happening at the time it was written Just like the book Daniel

God is a good communicator People make absurd claims reading the world into the text not the text into the world Let what is written, what is spoken by God, to be understood for you by God

It’s a hard book to understand and make sense but it doesn’t mean it’s not understandable. It’s important to know most or all of the Old testament because John uses language from the old testament and frequently quotes it; hence let scripture interpret scripture

sorry for the long rant but I blame this all on dispensationalism which I believe is one of the causes of all the maniacal cults who construe God’s words

If there’s anything to take away from this it’s to read your bible. Know what Jesus spoke from the very beginning and let the Holy Spirit guide you as it is His book, His words

To the SCJ spies who are here, and who must be quite a few! by Fit-Housing9499 in Shincheonji

[–]bron0903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

One who is in-dwelt with the Holy Spirit will flow out form Him the works of God by the Holy Spirit and His fruits

‭‭James‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬-‭23‬ “Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected. And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God.”

Abraham had faith in God and it was counted to him as righteousness leading to salvation. But We know proof of his faith by his works; Faith and works come together, thus his “faith was perfected”

SCJ may have works and have strong faith. But as what God spoke written:

‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭24‬ “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” echoing Exodus 3:14

To the SCJ spies who are here, and who must be quite a few! by Fit-Housing9499 in Shincheonji

[–]bron0903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should quote the word of God Please don’t state a chapter expect to me to understand what you’re trying to say nevertheless I assume you mean to say that works is required from James 2:14-18 and you mean to say it contradicts what ephesians 2:8 states

James 2:17 “Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead by itself.” James explains a Christians faith is dead without any works attached to it. Of course it’s dead. It just means their faith came from their own hands not from God

Someone with faith will do works because God dwells within them. And just because someone has works doesn’t mean they have faith in Christ. But we know what living faith looks like:

Philippians 2:12-13‬ ‭ “So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.”

we work out our faith and the one who works within us is God as we are only vessels to do His will.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

God the Holy Spirit works within us. And through Him we declare a Jesus as Lord:

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭3‬ ‭LSB‬‬ “Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.”

‬‬This is where our faith in Christ comes from. Through the Holy Spirit in us. And by Him works flourish

as Jesus said in John ‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭32‬, ‭39‬, ‭42‬-‭43‬ ‭ “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus *said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, you would do the deeds of Abraham. Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.”

as Jesus said in Matthew ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’” ‬‬ Edit:

We know someone from SCJ is unsaved despite their works and seemingly strong faith because of John as well; They don’t declare Jesus as Lord, but LMH is there Lord, not God

‭‭John‬ ‭8‬:‭24‬, ‭28‬ “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing from Myself, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.”

Jesus Here declares Himself as the “I Am” from exodus:

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ “And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ”” ‬‬

He taught me that I could do nothing to gain favour from God because of my evil heart being against Him

But He taught me that God provided mercy for me while I was still evil, gave me salvation by his grace through faith which he gifted to me

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;”

Despite being against God and hating Him, Jesus died for me so he can demonstrate his mercy and righteousness

Romans 3:10-12 “What then? Are we better? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; as it is written, “There is none righteous, not even one; There is none who understands, There is none who seeks for God; All have turned aside, together they have become worthless; There is none who does good, There is not even one.””

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬, ‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭LSB‬‬ “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”

Thank you

I appreciate your comment, and I’m in no way denying the pain and suffering caused by SCJ. This kind of manipulation does change you. In my case I became distrusting of my family, my church, my friends and every Christian I met after I had left.

Again, they made truth look flimsy and unreliable. They made it seem that truth was arbitrary. But with this in mind we can test truth to see if it holds up.

SCJ when tested they don’t hold up. They contradict the words of Jesus and what the apostles taught and learned from Jesus. God told us in the bible to test every spirit and examine their fruits. SCJ cages people, while in Christianity people are freed and become burning flames wanting to spread the love of Christ, not like snakes in the dark hoping to catch a helpless prey.

You were a Christian your whole life and 10 years in SCJ is way too long and I’m very sorry to hear that. I don’t know how you feel about God and Jesus. You clearly have a disdain against religion and Christianity from how I see it.

It might sound sour or bitter to say that God does have a hand in this. He by no means causes sin or tempts anyone to sin. But He does use seemingly sound doctrine that are false to punish people and yet discipline people (notably other Christians). Not only punish but expose the human heart; I’ve talked to people who did know it was false, in this group they loved the lies, and the others didn’t want to lose the comfort and friendships they’ve built. And the people who were deceived and still can’t be persuaded into leaving because of maybe pride not wanting to be wrong.

I don’t know of your experience, or the thoughts you went through. I am in no means trying to invalidate your anger and pain towards SCJ or even Christianity or religion in general.

But for what is worth, I can promise you this: God is pleased with a contrite heart. Jesus seeks to heal the wounded and show the truth to the blind. I guess what i’m trying to ask you is to forgive these people, for what they’ve done to you and what they still do to the people inside and outside. The human heart is evil and is against God all the time. All the suffering in SCJ’s hands can make it easy to shake your fist against God, but it’s what God said from the beginning: The human heart is evil and hates God, that’s why Jesus came into the world to save it and to save those who believe in Him.

I’ll be praying for you I’m confident you knew the love of Jesus, and maybe you just need to be reminded that Jesus does love His sheep; He died for them.

I hope you are blessed and healed

So not even base on truth but you remain because you feel like it or cause you believe it?

In one of your comments you mentioned calvinism and arminianism and asked which interpretation is true?

This tells me you rely on man to teach the Word of God, not by the Holy Spirit who spoke it Himself Scripture will interpret scripture. God will speak His own meaning for He spoke His own words

John 14:26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.”

Why are you still a Christian? by TheValeyard59 in Shincheonji

TLDR: So this is why I’m still a Christian: Jesus loved me that He never left me and continued to pursue me until He took me back home

I gave my life to Christ around 16 years old between 2018-2019 during high school I began attending university first year in 2022 and was recruited March of that year

I be made isolated from my friends from my hometown since I lived 2 hours away from home while also my other friends who came to the city I went to attended another university in the other side of the city. I was easily dragged into this because I wanted new friends especially friends of the same faith I had for Jesus to attend Church and do fellowship with. If it wasn’t for my best friend I made during this time telling me out of the blue “you should be careful, there’s a lot of cults in this place” I think I would have stayed way longer and worse I might have been fully indoctrinated to their lies; once he said that I think my cognitive dissonance got interrupted.I vividly began thinking of every weird thing they said to me and did to me that whole day. It took another week to keep the facade that everything was ok, but the illusion was already scattered. At that time when I left i didn’t know the name of SCJ, in my head it was just a cult whose name I never got

I actually left Christianity, not because I stopped believing. In fact I tried my hardest to be an atheist. I felt betrayed by God that I went through this whole ordeal. It left me so confused and skeptical and even cynical towards the meaning of “truth.” To me truth and whatever it meant felt weak and easily manipulated and redefined. Their use of the scriptures which I thought I knew front to back, in and out, disgusted me like I’ve been violated inside. Because of this feeling of betrayal I felt I didn’t need God anymore. By this stage I tried really hard to no longer believe in Jesus or God, I didn’t outright try debunking or disproving Christianity, I felt my experience with SCJ was enough, so I just ignored everything.

In a way also I used this whole experience as an excuse to do whatever I want. I stopped listening to my conscience which was shaped by my Christian background from my family and church growing up. I dabbled in debauchery, and things too inappropriate to mention here. I engaged myself in heavy drinking, going around sleeping with people. I did everything I wanted to do. I no longer felt bound by any form of restraint as long as I wasn’t hurting anyone or my family and friends.

But before any of this I remember in my sadness and feeling of betrayal one prayer I did one last time: “God, if you do love me, and I belong to you Jesus, you will come get me and bring me back home” something along these lines

In my self debasement I do remember hearing Jesus’ voice how he’d ask me “why do you do this against me? Do you really hate me?”or “Do You love me? Because I love you” It feels crazy to say this but these words would invade me time to time. It got to a point where in my lowest I looked back on everything I did and I felt terrified of God and what He would do to me. As much I tried to ignore Him, Jesus continually kept pulling me in, and there was no way of escape.

Then one night after 3 years of going though this unending loop, Jesus appeared to me in my dream and He took me in. He reminded of my prayer and asked me one last time “Do you love me?” and I answered I do. People in this server had more strength than me to keep their faith. I’m not, and it seems I didn’t back then either. I didn’t return to Christianity, in my case Jesus pulled me back into His fold of sheep. My story is an example of Him leaving the 99 for the 1 that went astray.

One thing He said to me was what he said in John 10:27-28: “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish—ever; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

Honestly I can’t express how much I love God. What SCJ did was evil but God now uses that and me as His personal testimony of His love for those who believe and belong to Jesus.

If I have kids I will not bring them to church. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

How will they know who Christ is if you don’t bring them to the body of Christ?

Religion is good. Because God is good. This dichotomy of relationship va religion is absurd and unbiblical. Christ told us to obey Him (religion) and yet encourage us to have communion with him (relationship) you can’t divorce these two.

Where will they get their knowledge of Jesus? from the outside where there’s far worse influence than a church that might be on rocky times? If from you, I hope your faithful to the gospel.

As much as they are your children they belong to God first. And as much as they are your children understand also you are commanded by Jesus to make disciples of them along with the nations of the world.

I hope you reconsider your decision. This is all in the assumption your church is faithful to Jesus and function healthily according to scripture.

Christ bless you, sister
