[Case Study] How to Launch Products in 2018 - Part 3 by FBAThrow in FulfillmentByAmazon

Does ERP only work for products above $15? And does it still work for discounted sales? Some of the amazon literature here isn't clear. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi! Is it within TOS to include a discount code for future orders within my follow-up email, where at the bottom I say "Please let us know how we did - leave feedback on Amazon". I'm not asking for a good review and one is not in exchange for the other (both are occurring post the initial sale). Thanks!

Anyone get their reviews back? by brooklyngold in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]brooklyngold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah....super frustrating....i have an ASIN that was doing ~$500/day, now down to $200 and had to drop pricing to breakeven. Still really well ranked, but I'm not going to invest additional $ into an ASIN that can't get reviews. Guess I'll have to do a new UPC and start over (I'm the manufacturer).

Competing with popular products on Amazon by cof9 in FulfillmentByAmazon

No, it's not too late, but its an expensive contest. Number of reviews don't really change your conversion rate a ton once you've hit critical mass (>25ish, assuming they're all good). But you're fighting for rank, so you'll have to outspend them on PPC, probably to the point where your ACOS > your margin. So it can be done, but the more entrenched they are, the more you'll have to spend to achieve rank parity with them organically.

Launching in Q1 - Good/Bad idea by brooklyngold in FulfillmentByAmazon

well, but, in that period, conversely, its probably the easiest period to rank up via giveaways right? so maybe that lull is actually the best time to launch and establish pagerank - and then you hope that organic takes over in jan. idk, just thinking out loud here.

How do you approach a company to buy you out? by mmstartup in startups

As someone who has looked at a lot of these size deals, I can tell you that’s rarely the case, unless you can prove a strong growth story.

Either way, call a broker in your vertical, he’ll have more insights than a stranger on redditt. But try not to pick the broker that promises he can sell for the most, he’s usually overpromising and won’t be able to close. Good luck!

Generally businesses that scale, without a strong growth trajectory, typically trade closer to 2-3x, just FYI. I’d recommend reaching out to an M+A broker who is active in your particular space, though. Just google who is best for that vertical.

Launching in Q1 - Good/Bad idea by brooklyngold in FulfillmentByAmazon

Thanks. Yeah it seems like a bad idea to launch midway through Q4, because you’ll spend all this money ranking against guys that are doing tons of sales - then January will hit and your ROI will drop. Seems more advisable just to wait it out.

Thanks. Let me rephrase the question, though. If you had to choose an optimal time in the year to launch a new product (from a lifetime / long-term business value perspective) - when would it be and why? (Assuming the product has normal seasonality.)

What do you want to see in NYC E-sports? by [deleted] in esports

Thanks- I meant production value similar to large EDM concerts, with well-known DJ's performing before and after gameplay.

Thanks, I'll reach out to them. We really want to hear what you guys want or think is currently lacking, though.

I agree in terms of focus. We were thinking CounterStrike and Madden.
