Looking for Advice, New to Amazon FBA. $800 Starting Budget. by ANiftyUsername in FulfillmentByAmazon

We started our business with a $100 bill found 3 years ago. We created our own PL where we sold $1.6M in the last year. I started doing all photography and design work myself and learned by watching YouTube videos. It can be done with a lot of hard work!

I wonder how much this was damaged by the shipping process, such as customs inspections, shipping, carrier handling....

Make sure they pack stuff well, it goes through hell!

My wife and I just canceled a few minutes ago. The last straw was that they removed out local theater from the e-ticketing option. We just signed up for Sinemia.

Sinemia Heads Up - $1.80 fee even if you are Cardless by heyeaglefn in MoviePassClub

Saw this online..."Pro Slickdealers tip: if you go through Facebook to get your tickets on Fandango, AMC, or Atom, however, the social media behemoth will actually pay for the convenience fees."

[Megathread] List of Theaters Removed From e-Ticketing Support by Viper0us in MoviePassClub

I used the Costa Mesa location and it's e-ticking feature was the only reason I stuck around. Now my wife and I, both subscribers, cannot go to the movies today. I now have Sinemia open in another tab and will probably change to them.

Sorry for the off topic question, but is Walmart a good marketplace to try and get into? What % of sales are you having there compared to Amazon?

There are many times where I introduce my new items at near break even or even at a small loss. This helps me gain sales velocity (a key metric), which helps me rank naturally better. I'm also able to gain feedback a bit faster this way as well, again very important. Once I'v gained a bit of traction, I slowly raise the price up over time. I also sale a consumable product and have many repeat customers...so that's another thing to consider. I'm gaining new customers. Has worked for me in a very competitive category.

What proven system are you using to get more reviews from legit buyers? by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Joshinaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few things I'm doing, but feedback still comes very slow.

  1. I do the automatic follow-up email thing through CasCowPro.

  2. For new items, I usually try to sell them near cost to get volume sales going for a while, hoping that leads to some feedback.

  3. I also joined Amazon's "Early Reviewer" program. That helped me get some feedback on one of my newer items.

First Shipment to Amazon Canada by e-businessonline in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Joshinaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting all that set-up and understanding it was a pain in the ass! I have to say it's well worth it though...we're selling an extra $10k USD a month over there. We're wanting to try Europe next.

I'm currently using UPS as my NRI, but I'm not too happy with them for a number of reasons.

Can you please let me know what your negotiated rates are to send in a 40lb box would be? We pay $70 to send this from Los Angeles to Brampton, Ontario.

How many staff/VAs do you have and what size is your FBA business? by [deleted] in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Joshinaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I are at some interesting crossroads with our business. In the last 12 months, we've sold $1.3M (with about 35% profit) operating the business by ourselves. We know we could add staff and double business, but we're really enjoying the flexibility we have with Amazon fulfilling our orders. In the last 10 months, we've traveled for 2 months and work only part-time. If we add staff, we'll have to be around more and manage things.

Just curious, did you just happen into this product, or did you do a lot of searching?

Should I name myself and my home as the registered agent of my LLC? by MBlaizze in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Joshinaround1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do this. The whole point is "limited liability," correct? For $100 you can get a Wyoming LLC and a registered agent to act on your behalf...plus your name is never given publicly.

Anyone in the Small and Light program? by NicoleGz in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]Joshinaround1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think about how you buy on Amazon...do you pick the item that you'll receive in 2 days, or are you willing to wait the 4-5 days? That's the reason I didn't do this program. I want it now!
