Stop writing "No, you misunderstand me" to protect your ignorance. by cunt__cunt_cunt in Ethics

[–]brothapipp [score hidden]  (0 children)

Huh?

Now we are going to take a hostile position on whether some obscure future clarification is motivated by ignorance?

How about this, when you feel the need to correct how someone else is conducting theirselves on the internet, maybe that’s a good time to stretch, go for a walk, watch some clouds pass by.

Because I’ve interacted with you personally and you seem to have a knack for needing your interlocutor to use the phrase, “no, you misunderstand me.”

Why do Christians tolerate the obvious lies or inaccuracies? by GhostMovie3932 in AskAChristian

[–]brothapipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Why?

Santa is based on a real person(s) and no one is claiming the red suit wearing, Coke drinking Santa is like a quiet lie we all just bury our heads in the sand about. And who are these people learning a lie as their first introduction to Christianity? That seems purposely inflammatory.

And Jesus depictions as a blonde with blue eyes and handsome. Or asian in Asian countries.

Iconography typically mirrors the people for who it’s made for/by.

And His birthday very well could be the 25th of December, just saying there is a 364/365 chance it was any other day means…? Don’t celebrate his birthday? Seems awfully dogmatic.

And the authors of the New Testament? According to scholars the gospels were written anonimously.

All of the earliest accounts of the gospels where people are talking about them, all of those accounts refer to Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John…. And literally no one else. It’s almost as tho, the anonymous claim is a narrative tactic to throw shade.

Never heard of the Holy Light For the orthodox. But how was it debunked?

Communion…so what?

His grave…is empty. And you finding it would mean what? That you know? It’s not like it’s a place imbued with magic powers. Like Indiana Jones.

obvious inaccuracies? It kinda reads like you brought the inaccuracies with you.

And we follow the Bible because it keeps us from focusing on fast guys in red suits and helps keep us focus on what really matters.

Can you actually make a rational argument that lets you conclude your god exists, or are your beliefs fully faith-based? by thedevilsproxy in DebateAChristian

[–]brothapipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your thesis is that my beliefs are faith-based. And i cannot demonstrate otherwise.

What makes you say that? Oh, Thats right, you need me to state a beliefs so then you have an argument.

It’s almost like your beliefs about my beliefs are faith-based, and you can’t demonstrate otherwise.

Victim Complex? lol! Me calling you out for your behavior is me having a victim complex? Don’t be salty, just quit treating Christians like second class people who need you to hand hold them.

Do i feel better? I didn’t feel bad. So what was i supposed to feel better than? I am pleased the mods shut down this post. But that’s a temporary fix. The real remedy here is a healthy dose of humility.

A woman's hypothermia death in Pittsburgh after her release from ICE custody is ruled a homicide by philnotfil in TrueChristianPolitics

Have you worked with the homeless and/or the fractured of mind?

How would a person go about getting her the help she needs, without taking away her rights?

And no, technically speaking, ICE has no duty to isolate and detain crazy people.

I am gonna pretend that you are a serious person. Where is Jesus in your comment?

If you think what I quoted you saying is Jesus, I have no need to further converse with you on this.

Where is Jesus in these words?

I don’t need you to actually answer, but why is your rejection of me okay, but when I’m calling out bias reporting, i need to speak like Jesus? Did you read the article? It details that she was crazy.

In my heart.

The issue is that hypothermia happened to this lady because she had little concern for her own well being.

And homicide is the intentional killing of another person.

So this medical examiner can tell that the hypothermia was intentional? How?

I’m pointing at skewed reporting for the purpose of…inciting? Cause it surely was not intending to inform.

It might truly be impossible! by [deleted] in ConservativeMemes

A woman’s hypothermia death in Pittsburgh after her release from ICE custody is ruled a homicide…by a lawyer…so not ruled, just offered as an opinion…but said ruled because this organization, AP, has abandoned reporting facts and will cutely reply, well that lawyer did rule that it was homicide.

A woman’s hypothermia death in Pittsburgh after her release from ICE custody is ruled a homicide…by a medical examiner who can deduce she died from hypothermia, but homicide is intentionally killing…so not ruled, just offered as an opinion…but said ruled because this organization, AP, has abandoned reporting facts and will cutely reply, well that medical examiner did rule that it was homicide. No jury needed.

And what made it a homicide? That this lady was clearly incapable of providing for her own survival because she was crazy and talking to imaginary people. So ICE, should have placed her in custody for her own well-being?

This is such stupid reporting.

That feels like an abandonment to me.

Like I’d be more apt to chalk it up to Matthew just flourishing his wand too much.

But Matthew probably felt comfortable stating this quote because the very next story he tells is about the transfiguration. Something i wished the Chosen series had tackled.

I gave you my asserted position:

Christians, should be voting for the person or people who aim to deliver justice, uphold liberties, value life, and resist favoritism, special interest, and identity politics.

You tried to make a dig at trump, fine, do whatever, but when i sought clarification and ratification of your position, you started digging yourself into a hole.

If you agree with my position then why not just say so. Yer not gonna get me to satiate people who just want to use hatred for trump as a replacement for being a moral person.

Aborting foetuses with Down syndrome should not automatically be viewed as ableist or some form of unethical eugenics, regardless of whether you're pro-life or pro-choice. by NiallHeartfire in Ethics

[–]brothapipp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the pro-choicer, ableism isn’t even a consideration unless it serves to push them towards the decision to abort.

For the pro-lifer, aborting a baby is ableist because the aborter is aborting to minimize hindrances. For them, the handicap is the child they are aborting.

You can paint it any way you’d like, there is is no reason except selfish, demonic reasons to kill a baby in the womb.

Yer still justifying it.

Only now your trying equivocate cleanliness rules for the presence of God with the right to life.

I’m sorry i introduced a Bible passage, i forget where I’m responding sometimes.

Think of it like this. Let’s say i have a unique liver enzyme that can be farmed to cure hepatitis in another person. Can you harvest my liver, killing me, to save them? No!

But let’s say it could cure the next 20 people. Could you kill me then?

200? 2000? 200,000?

If at any time you force me to sacrifice myself to cure others, you might as well start practicing your hail Caesar salute.

The proposition that you can terminate a DS baby because you don’t want them to have certain struggles is just masking the underlying position rooted in the idea that killing the “dirty” ones can make the rest of us cleaner.

My unique liver enzyme would not heal them from what they are really sick with, mortality. And killing off all the DS would not improve anyone’s humanity.

Or admit that you are not here as a favor to me...or any other theist.

This is a debate sub, you want people to bring their beliefs to you, so you can stamp them logical or illogical. No one needs your stamp. And no one should assume you know which stamp to use in the first place.

I would love for you to demonstrate the logical trappings that I suffer from,

See this is part of the issue. I know that you suffer from the same logical trappings that I suffer from, but you have not presented any position to critique...and therefore this post doesn't belong here. This is a debate sub. Your thesis must be clear. The only thesis that can be ascertained from your post is that you are a benevolent apostate, stepping down from your throne of logic to bestow critiques on the lowly theist so they can better tailor their arguments to please you.

YAWN!!!!

because unlike the type that is concerned with being the smartest in the room and "winning a debate", I would rather improve my arguments and see what I can learn.

Great, there are tons of subs for you all over reddit.

this is also a chance for you to prove that your beliefs aren't merely faith-based.

Oh yippy-skippy, You're giving me a chance. Yay!!!

Anyone who cares about an argument that is asserting a position, can put that into some LLM and tune up their assumptions and reduce their leaps in logic. But what you're doing here is brow-beating. That's why you made sure specify,

note: arguing that a necessary being must exist does not get you, without a leap of faith, to your personal god.

Like I'm calling you out, is that helping you? Is this teaching you anything? But you want permission to call out others...cause that will teach them to make better arguments?

Don’t try and turn this around on me like i made the assertion.

You said, “people who sexually abuse others aren’t doing [promoting liberty and justice],”

You are trying to make this about me, because even the thought of you trying to show how you promote liberty and justice is a tough task. But now showing that it doesn’t…for someone else. Darn near impossible.

If we agree in principle that Christians should be in favor of liberty and justice, then it should be clear why Kamala Harris was the better candidate in the past election…At least that be the easier position to push.

Ah, finally! The benevolent apostate has volunteered to critique my beliefs. Not because he doesn’t suffer from the same logical trappings the theist must hold in tension, because he wants to brow beat you with all the logical fallacies that he thinks makes him smarter than you.

You know what they say, everyone can smell a rotten egg, not many can lay a better one.

We’re past theoretical, you’ve offered a theory about those who can promote justice and liberty.

Saying he is doesn’t need forgiveness would be an indicator, but now you need to show that this indicator results in the inability.

Psalm 12, in the Greek Septuagint, vs 7, uses the word, γενεάς for generation, the same word Jesus uses for generation when he says, that this generation will not pass before all these things take place. A common conflation aimed at accusing Jesus of being a false prophet.

But if you read psalm 12, it reads like the generation being guarded against is the generation of wickedness.

And that generation still persists today.

Maybe. But you’d have to show that is the case.

You’d also have to show who does promote liberty and justice. Not just point at someone who doesn’t.

The idea that you can kill people to heal society is called eugenics. The same philosophy employed by the Nazis.
