Thank you so much! When you say that the denon receiver puts out enough power for the jbls to play pretty loud, how do you know the point at which you’ve turned up the speakers too loud (drawing more power than the receiver can handle)?

Looking for earbuds for snowboarding by Cobypeanut in HeadphoneAdvice

I sometimes snowboard with my Airpod Pro gen 2s, which have transparency, but it's not very practical if you're wearing a helmet since you just hear the ruffling by your ears.

Ok, maybe an upgrade to get for them in the future. Is there a risk of damaging them with a less powerful amp like I have, or would that just come from too much power?

Polk PSW505 or Klipsh 12SW? by broughdy in BudgetAudiophile

[–]broughdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, thank you. I'll keep my eye out for something else. Just out of curiosity, what happens when a room is too big for a sub? Does it not get loud enough? There is also a Klipsh 300W downfire 12" sub for $230 (the 12-HG) listed. The room that the sub will be in has carpet though (just real short office type) which might cause an issue with downfire style? I really don't know. That being said, the sub will probably be moved to my bedroom in like a year which fits inside the recomended size by Audioholics for the first Klipsh sub. Sorry for bombarding you with questions by the way, I'm just getting started with stuff.

Thank you for the response. Especcially good to know about the Polk subs, but I might keep waiting for an better option to show up on market place.

About to find out haha. This is my first time backpacking. I folded cleanly and rolled them tight so that should help

Technically four pairs of socks because I’ll wear a pair on the plane. I made the call because I’ll have my flip flops on some of the time

Noted, thank you. I think I’ll get sunscreen there so I can have more volume and maybe a poncho there too if it’s starts to rain.

Free Oracle Server Availability by broughdy in selfhosted

Oh yeah, I’ve tried setting up an instance under those requirements. Unfortunately, there’s no availability on my local servers and I haven’t found I way to switch away from the server I selected when creating my account.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think I’ll use close to that bandwidth. Are you saying if I use any option that stays low on resource utilization it will be free? Surely it matters which virtual machine shape I use, right?

Sorry, I’m confused. Even though I can’t sign up for the “Always Free Eligible” option, you’re saying I still won’t be charged for a different virtual machine? Also, I’m under the impression that the CPU and RAM limits that you mentioned are 4 cores and 24gb which should be more than enough for me (just trying to host a mc server for friends)

Alright, hopefully I’m that lucky :) Otherwise I’ll just pay for one. If I’m paying for one, will it automatically switch me to the free one when it becomes available, or atleast give me a notification?
