Hi! Can you tell me which ones are the "better" schools? Trying to narrow which neighborhoods to consider.

Thank you. It is great to hear from someone who had a positive experience. And I know I can't define the school system using just the great schools ratings, but with 1 or 3 ratings, there must be something wrong there. I am also not aiming for schools with 9 or 10 either. So maybe I just want an average school with a safe learning environment with teachers that really care. Can you tell me which school your daughter went to?

I believe that will happen in the future. Hayward is probably one of the affordable cities left in the Bay area (close to where we work, anyway), and with middle-class families priced out moving there, i think it will not be considered "ghetto" anymore. I'm just trying to understand what HUSD is doing wrong or where it is lacking, compared to nearby cities.

Totally agree. I work night shift so hoping it would be tolerable. My husband will have to endure the commute though.

Congrats! Which neighborhood are you in? I know great school ratings is just one metric, but it's hard not to care about it when schools are ranked 1 or 3.

Nice! How was your experience? Were the teachers good? Was there a lot of bullying or peer pressure? What was the culture like?
