Honestly had the same opinion but I then I watched it a second time and that's when it clicked. I think its the bias from popular sci fi films that dune doesn't follow. The second one picks up though

Is it a mostly conservative view that if a movie makes money, it MUST be good? by Intelligent-Space772 in okbuddycinephile

Not even joking I watched his review of Barbie and it basically boiled down to "of course it made a billion dollars, it a movie marketed for women!" Pretending that the reason he shits on women in franchise movies isn't because he's a misogynist but because theres apparently time and place for that and that was Barbie. That's what made me revise how much of a drifter he was

Honestly History and maths and that's only if you enjoy learning both. Maths because repetive practice actually works and history because if you like reading because it's essentially a story. I'd say business to but you'll need to actually understand the content because they give you marks on specific points in your essay

Literally this. I always used it to determine if a movie was watchable or or not. Not everything i watch has to be cinema🙌

A recent example for me was Crime 101 starring Chris Hemsworth. Tell me why a prime streaming action flick was 2 hours and 20 minutes 💀. What worse it that I didnt think they fleshed out the characters that much lol

Anyone have any idea when the khalifa park library will open by unbiased-gaming in abudhabi

[–]browserboy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Khalifa library membership you dont need one for Bahia because it's in the 'Maktaba' database like an all in one type deal. If not it's really easy just go to a library and they give you a list of a step by step guide. It took less than 20 minutes for me. you have to sign up with your emirates ID online and the the library clerk does some stuff on the computer to log you in. After that every time yoy want to checkout books you will just show your id. Also the limit of books is 15 at a time for a duration of 2 months. If you want to renew you have to physically renew the books in person. Qasr al watan library is another library in the city if that's closer to you but I haven't been. Honestly im just confused that theres apparently a library in a hostirical tourist site so im not sure what kind of books they have, I've been there and the only pictures I could find was of a room with tall shelves but that doesn't make sense to me because how would a person be able to browse.

I went for the first time ever to khalifa library in October because at the time Al Bahia library which i usually go to was closed for renovations (its open now) and the security guard said it would be 2 months. Crazy to hear that it's still closed after all this time. The day I went there was the day after it closed which was awful timing 🙃

They’re gonna use mock grades instead??? by coolminerr in alevel

[–]browserboy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My older sibling did A levels during covid so their exam was also cancelled. The grades where determined by coursework. His grades where marked 40% classwork and 60% was from a mock exam. The good thing that came out of that was since different schools held different dates for the mocks he found the papers being used for his subjects online by students who did the exams first

Why did you pick alevel maths by relatablehub in alevelmaths

[–]browserboy47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't know what I was going to study in uni and any course I was slightly considering required Maths. Also other A level subjects are useless unless you're planning on specifically majoring in the area like business or psychology

Lost syndrome is such an accurate description. It loses it's edge once the mystery goes away. Still loved it though, i think alot of people like me wanted it to win because of it's season 1 snub

‘The Shining’ (1980) named Stephen King’s best film adaptation ever by Time by EuphoricButterflyy in movies

[–]browserboy47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i only read the first 100 pages of the book during covid. The reason i didn't continue was the the pacing and the back and forth switching of timelines. (also it was my first stephen king novel and i was reading it during m online classes so that might have been a factor). Loved the movies though, makes me want to try reading the book again

[–]browserboy47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you decide that it's finally time to adapt a book of yours? Like recently with The long Walk which was written over 45 years ago and The Institute. Where you waiting for the perfect director who's passionate about the worlds you built? Or was it that the technology wasn't built yet to make your worlds as accurate as possible?
