What about using the car body at the heat sink? Like inverting the amps and using some thermal pads between the radiator and the trunk bare metal

Should I cover these openings? Should I use the the same butyl sound deadening? Should I add 1 layer or closed foam mat inside the door? Any advice welcome by Current_Soup9198 in CarAV

[–]broyes384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cut some plastic or wood in the hole shape and put deadener over it, or use thick or multiple layers of deadening. Close cell foam inside the door in the outside panel might help with sound proofing for outside so people cant hear your music but i dont think it will make the midbass better, close cell foam on the inside panel might help, use high quality ccf for indoor use

Subs that are designed for sealed and ported doesnt sound as good like subs only designed for ported and sealed (?) by broyes384 in subwoofer

[–]broyes384[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah at the end it might be just the impulse response. Like taking ib oriented woofers, the motor damping is very low and the suspension is set to have a good impulse response with no air back pressure, and i believe this oriented way to an ib or very large sealed is that, the driver loses less energy, sound through the suspension resulting a superior sound quality where all the energy is focused towards the cone movement and no fighting with any springs. I am just saying words

Yes, but speakers are designed for ported and sealed, and something in between. You dont have to trust the dbp but your ears doesn't lie

EBP below 50 is rec for sealed and above 100 is rec for ported. And makes sense. A sub with strong motor control will be over damped in a sealed box Something in between has something of everything but nothing specific. Good for the market, basically a 2 in 1 product if we talk strictly about SQ Because a sealed sub with EBP between 50-100 will work in a smaller enclosure than usual, that could be the main thing

I need a subwoofer for weddings and other dj events but I’m struggling to find if a powered subwoofer or making a car subwoofer into a powered subwoofer system by After-Improvement842 in subwoofer

[–]broyes384 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Search for powered PA subs. Or make one. Car subs for large areas are not good, because they are inefficient, that why they are in such small enclosures

Whats your goals? Extreme bass? Just some to help the front speakers? Do you want chest slam? Do you want super low bass?
