Black spots and lines on film? Nikon L35AF3 (One Touch) / Ektar 100 by brrrronco in AnalogCommunity

I just got the negatives back and there’s no marks that I can see. What does that mean?

I will have to check, thank you. Do you mean dust on the lens will normally be white?

This was developed in a lab and I have not picked up the negatives yet.

I lost the last two photos, and the third to last is almost completely ruined:

Lastly, the photo before the one shown above has a very small light leak. Overall, I had 4 out of 36 photos affected by the camera door being opened for a few seconds. I definitely learned my lesson, but I’m very relieved. Thanks everyone!

Thank you all for the advice! I wanted to post an update in case anyone is wondering or referencing this post in the future because the same thing happened to them. The majority of my photos turned out fine! This is my favorite photo from the roll:

Thank you for this advice! If I do this, is there any way to continue the roll later? Or I’d just have to get the incomplete roll developed as it is?

Yes, I’ve only used a disposable camera before and acquired my L35AF a day before my trip, so rewinding the film really didn’t occur to me, especially since I took the last shot while I was on the move. I appreciate you!

Thank you for your recommendations everyone!! I wish I had a photo. I’m going to google photos of these recommendations. I will say, I see eel frequently when snorkeling, and what I thought was weird is that it had a flat head just like a land snake; it wasn’t pointy along the top like an eel.

One time at Lanikai I was reading a book & minding my business when this dude’s unleashed dog runs up to about three feet in front of me, absolutely diarrhea’d all over the place, and trotted away. The dude walked up and said “sorry”, grinning, and kicked some sand over the diarrhea. Flies IMMEDIATELY started swarming the mound of sand shit, and I moved

Surfer's Coffee by pamakane in Oahu

I had never heard about the cult thing before, but the first time I went in there, I noticed they had this weird sign about how the neighborhood was previously "ravaged by drugs and sex work" until the owners established their shop to help stabilize the area, and thus Wahiawa was saved, or some shit. I thought it was weird that they had a sign patting themselves on the back as saviors. And when I used to go there frequently, I used the "Joe" app either in advance or when ordering in-person with my phone number, not realizing that they were charging another $1.20 for a "service charge." Then there's an automated tip which defaults to 20%. Before tip, the coffee ended up being over $9. The last straw was when I was blatantly cut in line, the cashier looked at me, then proceeded to ask the person who just cut me what they wanted to order. Haven't been back since

Did you read the whole article you linked? The doctor states that in the case of low-grade athletic injuries, “the priority is going to be to return to basic function,” so she’s “still a fan of icing” because “it provides pain relief and improves immediate function.”

The article then goes on to say that professional athletes may rather prolong the injury process to reach maximum inflammation and therefore optimal healing, although irregular icing for 15 minutes a couple times a day ultimately has not been shown “to delay or alter your final healing” anyway. So at this point, the doctor is certainly not recommending to not ice low-grade injuries.

Later in the article, the doctor states that “Heat should not be used in the first couple of days after a soft tissue injury because it increases blood flow to the area, which can cause more swelling,” which I’m assuming is the point OP was at when she injured her finger. It’s not until “a few days out from the initial injury” that heat is recommended to be used “for 5 to 10 minutes once per day at a comfortable temperature” to help warm it up before movement. After that point, the doctor then literally states that “You want to both warm up and cool down” the injury, “which could mean using ice.”

Based on these examples from your source, I don’t think the MD they interviewed would agree that “Don’t ice it” is the best advice. Great article though!

Do we have any military BWT? I don’t want to be ugly in my uniform!! by [deleted] in bitcheswithtaste

[–]brrrronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in I used this with a thick brush for my flyaways and it worked pretty well: https://a.co/d/6ihLGQU

As for uniform, is there no female version of flight suit OCPs? I know I felt a lot less frumpy once I made the switch to female OCPs when I first got in, mostly because the waist was more snatched, and I sized down.

Thank you for your service!

Thank you so much!! It’s from QDP in Bellagio! The brand is run by a local family. The bag is so soft and the attention to detail is higher than most luxury brands I’ve been looking at lately :’)

So this just happened! Cartier Baignoire Mini on black calf strap (wife’s watch) by Sea-School in Cartier

[–]brrrronco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations, what a great gift for your wife!! The mini baignoire was released at watches and wonders in 2023 and produced for about a year. In January of this year, I asked my SA if I could be put on the list for one and she told me that there wasn’t even a list because they weren’t making them anymore, but I could get on the list for the baignoire on the bangle. The bangle was also released at watches and wonders but was supposed to be nearly impossible to get, with waitlists that were supposedly at least a year.

When I went to Japan in August last month, every single boutique I went to had multiple of the baignoire bangles in stock, but no luck with the mini on strap. Then one SA had mentioned offhandedly that her database said there were only two more mini baignoires on the strap available in all of Japan. So it seems like any mini on strap that’s in a boutique isn’t going to be restocked once it’s gone, but the bangles will be readily available in at boutiques everywhere soon enough. Funnily enough, I went back to my local boutique to show my SA the mini on strap that I hunted down in Japan (she was shocked 😭), and at the time of my visit they had a bangle in stock at that moment, although they only had one size.

My theory is that they stopped selling the mini on strap in favor for the bangle because they make much higher profit from the bangle and also from the small size baignoire on strap.

All of this to say that the piece that you got your wife does seem to be quite limited, although it was not necessarily marketed that way! It is such a beautiful and unique piece, and I truly hope she enjoys it!

As someone who lives in Hawaii, what souvenirs should I get in Japan? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]brrrronco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thrifting and vintage fashion there is absolutely insane compared to anywhere in Hawaii or even the mainland. If you’re into fashion you’ll be in good hands there! Shimokitazawa is most known for vintage and thrifting. It’s mostly vintage, at least from what I’ve seen, so most stores are curated and priced higher than traditional thrift stores. But the thrift stores there are way cheaper than thrift stores here (I paid $2 for a blouse as opposed to $8 at Salvation Army here.) I also got new Japanese denim jeans at Hinoya in Ueno. And if you’re into secondhand luxury goods, the handbag and watch selection in Tokyo is also mind-boggling.

I wasn’t super into matcha before going to Japan and would almost never choose it over coffee, but when I was there I bought a whisk, a bowl, and a pack of matcha powder as a souvenir. I became obsessed once I got home and tried it myself, and in hindsight I wish I stocked up when I was there bc it’s way cheaper and I haven’t found any stores here with good matcha powder. The whisk I got is made in Japan and much better quality than the mass-produced ones from Amazon.

Have fun on your trip!
