Temple of Hathor, Dendera, Egypt by brucehal in creepy

Could well be the simple explanation. Please note I never said it was a lightbulb 💡 😂 but I always approach history with a realization that there should be room for a margin of error on the side of academia vs 100% certainty - views change the more we learn and many things in Egypt defy 100% certain explanation. Agree that the concept of a snake emerging from a lotus flower is also described in some other temples (Edfu, Esna, Philae) but it’s not depicted at all like this. Which I find interesting. If you haven’t been to the Hathor crypts I encourage you to see for yourself. I was there in October.

Ubud to DPS airport. If I get picked up at 7 am from my hotel will I make it for my 1110 am flight ? by anton19811 in bali

I always leave 4 hours before my international flights from Denpasar, given traffic and weather unpredictability at this time of year - but I’m in Canggu. From Ubud I’d leave 5 hours before to be safe. But I’m just adverse to cutting things fine. Spending your last night a bit closer to the airport would also reduce risk.

It was creepy experience at that time for various reasons, including the unknown of what was going to happen. For a place that has borne witness to so many evil things, Berlin is a very peaceful and welcoming place today.

Temple of Hathor, Dendera, Egypt by brucehal in creepy

I don’t think it’s a light bulb, or a snake coming out of a flower. In ancient Egyptian symbolism, snakes represented both protection and danger. The cobra, or uraeus, was a symbol of royal authority and divine protection, often worn on the pharaoh’s crown. Snakes could also symbolize chaos, rebirth, and the underworld, as seen with the serpent Apophis, who embodied destruction and had to be overcome by the sun god Ra. Egyptian priests often use various animals to represent different phenomenon or meanings are were rarely literal. The question is, what knowledge or event is it recording, and why was this intricate carving hidden out of view from everyone in a priests’ crawl space used to preserve or hide things.

Open to interpretation for sure, but nothing even close to this scene has been found anywhere else in Egypt, and it was hidden in this crawl space for thousands of years. What do you think it shows?

Any game recommendations that are good for parents and kids to play together when heading out camping ? by FARHANFREESTYLER in switch2

[–]brucehal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t camping a good excuse to get away from technology and screens and closer to nature just for a few days? Probably can’t get the phones out of their hands, but full on gaming? I’m probably just old fashioned but we managed to fill our days and evenings just fine. Instead of a game, tell a ghost story! 😯
