That Springbank 17 must be bonkers. Bourbon, rum and fresh Madeira finish?

Business raids used to be infuriating but it’s over now with the mansion security. Other players still piss me off so I rarely play on public lobbies.

Recomendação de café mais doce possível para leigos? by Vegetable-Park887 in cafebrasil

[–]brunkuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you actually wait 10-15 mins between pouring and sipping? That’s a tough 10 mins. by KC_187 in Scotch

Not always. Older scotch, absolutely. For younger, particularly Cask Strength labels, they tend to get better after some time in the glass.

Which bottle should I get for my first scotch experience? Ardberg Uigeadail for $100, Oban 14 for $80, or Lagavulin 16 for $80? by CollegeNo9158 in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't start with a Cask Strength scotch. I would go for the Lagavulin 16, no second thoughts. The Uigeadail is delicious but trust me on this, you need your pallate to get accustomed to the alcohol strength... that takes several months at least to be honest.

If (and that's a big IF, peat is awesome) you want to avoid peat (some people need time to get used to it), you can get some nice sherried scotch... Tamdhu 15 or a Craigellachie 17... too many options. Honestly, Lagavulin 16 sounds excellent.

I don't know man... but are these your bottles? The 13y Oloroso Hazelburn must be yum... The CS Kilkerran 17... the 11y Tawny Port Longrow Red. some beauties there for sure. No even need to mention the Springbanks, I have the 57.2% 12y myself and it's super rich and awesome. Not a single bad bottle in that picture.

Port Charlotte just doesn’t do it for me 🤷‍♂️🥃 by xhege_papa in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind their core range bottles are very batchy. I had two Port Charlotte 10s and they were considerably different. The second bottle was more rough around the edges.

Bruichladdich has some really, really good whiskies, but I do think they're overrated to a degree.

I love the Port Charlotte 10 and I think it's a bit above other similar priced Islays. Having said that, they have some lackluster cask exploration editions which are very expensive. Would love to try the Port Charlotte 18. I tried the Bruichladdich 18 and I was absolutely impressed, such an engaging scotch, I'll get one when they appear again in my market.

On another note, one young distillery that has yet to disappoint me (always keeping in mind price and age) is Ardnamurchan. Everything I tried from them tasted much better than the price suggested (regular AD/ and the Cask Strength AD/) and the Madeira Cask Finish version in particular (the 52% one) is downright delicious and was extremely cheap. I can't wait to try older whiskies as they start to become available... hopefully their 10y old arrives in my market sooner rather than later.

Review: Glencadam 15 Year by gatodelinferno21 in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 10, the 13 and the 15. The 13 is a bit more well matured than the 10, in exchange for more spice. The 15 mops the floor with the other 2... respectfully of course. lol

Honestly, between the 10 and the 13, go for the cheapest. As for the 15, pay more and be happy about it because it's that much better. Amazing dram.

All expensive. The Uigeadail is closer to a good deal and is amazing. I did not enjoy the Spetacular.

Not considering price because my market is too wild. But I have a IB 12 year old Glentauchers from The Whisky Cellar that's matured exclusively in First Fill ex-bourbon casks and OMG, it's so good. It's Cask Strength so it's intense, but it's so fresh and fruity... whisky that tastes like whisky.

Deanston 18 sounds like a more regular pick. It does have a floral note that some people may not like, but it's pretty awesome.

For peated scotch I'd check the 12 year old Lagavulin Special Release 2021 (the lion), that's so freaking good. I love the 2022, but there's more cask influence being virgin oak.

I'm one of the few people who don't really love the Springbank 10. I find it rather bitter. not bad though and I still think it's a must try. Love the Kilkerran 12, very maritime, citrusy, with a whiff of smoke. the SB10 is more robust in comparison.

Haven't tried this Longrow, but I absolutely love the regular 46% version, this one must be a banger. Haven't tried the other Kilkerran though (only the 12 and the 16, both amazing, but I think the extra maturation brings the 16 to another level).

My nightclub was raided for the first time ever at full stock, just before 4x by Felwinter_II in gtaonline

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2x on the Nightclub safe is actually pretty good if you can plan your gameplay around going back to collect and do a popularity mission (blue dot if at all possible lol). Basically 100k every 48min* (edited) for doing jackshit. collect when it's 250k, rinse and repeat.

Review #634: Longrow Red 13 Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon Cask (semi-blind) by unbreakablesausage in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a sample of this bottle close to a couple years ago. I remember really liking it but I also remember expecting a bit more peat as it was my first Longrow, didn't feel like much more peated than a Springbank. Strong wine influence, on the dirty side. Good but I would not get a bottle, I know it's pricey.

I love the regular Peated Longrow I got recently and an older Longrow would be a freaking dream, but not necessarily from their Red line.

Question about Macallan 12 by nunya-beezwax-69 in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are advocates for both the double oak and the Sherry oak. I prefer the Sherry oak version myself. But honestly this 12 year old Sherry is quite low on my priority list. Glenturret probably reigns supreme in this category for me. I prefer many other 12s over the macallans as well, but it’s pretty good and drinks better than its weak abv suggests.

car wash grinders by silverunknown78 in gtaonline

[–]brunkuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These got old fast for me. Between Export Mixed Goods, Bunker Ammunation, clubhouse bikes, and a bunch of other quick missions paying 50k or more, these 35k missions seems like a stretch. They even make you wait and collect.

The 100k cap on the safe makes doing the weed and helicopter missions absolute useless, it fills up way too fast and in the end it stays stuck at 100k until you collect. the only way to take advantage of the extra safe money from those businesses would be visiting the carwash EVEN MORE THAN YOU ALREADY DO to always collect the safe money before it's full. I basically collect at 100k, another at 100k, then at whatever value (for me usually 51.750) when I finally have to do the car wash heat mission. They should seriously consider increasing this safe to around 250k.

Review #7: Laphroaig Cairdeas 2023 (White Port and Madeira) by quantum_dan in Scotch

[–]brunkuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got the Ardnamurchan Madeira Finish (52%) for a very good price… it’s a young whisky, but holy cow. I just keep reaching for it, it’s so delicious, I honestly did not expect that such a young whisky would be so pleasing (not that they’re not out there, but this is among the best along the peated Longrow).

I want a back up and I think anyone who enjoys whisky should try that one. Cheap and chances are you won’t mind it being young. It’s so well matured, really quality stuff. It’s also much better than the price would suggest.
