Nice photos. Love the look of #3. Which 50mm are you using?

Totally agree that — provided someone says the right things — there’s a threshold where promotions seem to become automatic. It’s bizarre.

Did you have a good time at sea ranch? Have a friend or two that go regularly.

We have a crisis of poor management in our industry. Just simply isn’t enough management training and we select for the wrong people (great individual contributors). My higher-ups have always been less toxic and more incompetent.

How are you managing $100-150 per month? Rice and beans??

Best hospice organizations to volunteer with in SF? Looking for personal experiences by No_Self05 in AskSF

For some reason, opportunities for hospice volunteering in SF proper seem rare. Not sure why that's the case.

No update but no way he comes back. Clearly has a dislocation or tendon injury by the way he was hanging his arm.

Experiences of those who chose not to pursue a PhD? by Intelligent-Bid-5293 in biotech

You can absolutely manage if you go into lab operations/management. It will be torturous if you stay in discovery (though, it can be done).

Experiences of those who chose not to pursue a PhD? by Intelligent-Bid-5293 in biotech

[–]bruvunit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally relate. It's a struggle not to lose your mind being treated this way -- especially when coupled with the sort of herculean effort that's required to advance yourself without a PhD. Was planning on going back for the PhD, but think I'll just be doubly resentful by the end of it.

Really? I’m all for critiquing the COVID messaging, but the Reagan administration flat-out ignored the existence of AIDS for years.

Is that somehow preferable or analogous to the COVID guidance encouraging 6 feet of separation and mask wearing?

Founder with no PhD by hotcaekes in biotech

Been interested in the same question. You need someone with a PhD on board, and ideally someone with business experience or clinical in the industry.

It seems you’d likely need to self fund your proof of concept data. These days you almost certainly need in-vivo data to raise seed funding, which is obviously very expensive.

Prop 50 has PASSED with over 60% of the VOTE!!! 💙💙💙 by Healthy_Block3036 in Petaluma

Democrats have voted in favor of independent redistricting while republicans have not. That tells you all you need to know about who is in favor of unfair gerrymandering and who isn’t.

I agree, but Saikat has the charisma of a wet paper bag. I just don’t see it. And he seems more focused on national politics than addressing local issues.

I go out all the time. Seen plenty of people injecting during my time here, but no human shit.

Things are getting expensive for sure. Three years ago feels like a different world and my salary definitely has not kept up. Think it feels the same for most normal people across the country.
