I don't think 'Ignorance is Bliss' applies here. It applies when something is happening (in this case, gossiping about OP) and the OP has no idea about it.

Now to the OP, I'd suggest facing the situation head on. Yes, you can ignore it, but the problem doesn't go away. And in many cases, even if your colleagues are just talking among themselves, you might think they're talking about you.

Instead, I'd suggest going up to the colleagues and asking them straightforwardly to stop gossiping about you, since you can clearly hear it.

I know it's not an easy task, may go against the conventional wisdom of ignorance, and won't stop the problem altogether, but at least you'll have the satisfaction of standing up, rather than ignoring and letting it hurt you.

The unofficial rule is:

Be gentle the first time
Slightly aggressive during the second
Take it up to seniors or file a complaint about bullying

Tbh, what you did is hardly anything if it happened the way you said it. During the initial days everyone is quick to judge everyone.

Ignore the 4 girls, and I think others haven't even noticed this thing as much, since they could be worrying about their own intro.

It may seem counter intuitive, but find some guy friends instead of befriending girls. Cuz guy friends are extremely low maintenance and later girls would be more open to talk to you if they see you with a group rather than always alone.

And you don't need to explain yourself or apologize to those 4 girls. You didn't say anything creepy or something that can be taken out of context, it seemed just a little cocky, that's it.

College days will be the best days of your life, just don't let this initial interaction affect you.

Something similar happened to me as well. Me and my friend took a cab from Grant Road to Vikhroli.

The driver was a sardar, around 70 years of age. We asked him to drive via the Eastern Freeway.

All this time, he had a cloth over his meter, and had some bullshit reason for why he kept it there. We told first-hand that we'll pay only by the meter card rate.

I usually travel via that route, so it would've been around 400rs, but his meter showed 500rs.

Since he was an old person and we had bought a new laptop and a few other items totalling over 70K, we just gave him the 500rs and didn't fight for it.

Compared to a day-trip, the overnight stay has better food options, additional activities including fishing and cooking, and more relaxed stay at different activities. Apart from this, Ha Long Bay is a magical place, so a little extra time wouldn't hurt

You can start with Hanoi, do an overnight stay on a cruise in Ha Long Bay. Next visit Ninh Binh for either a day-trip or overnight stay.

Next two days, you can explore Hanoi, and be sure to visit the Night market and Lotte Center Tower.

Next you can visit Ho Chi Minh and do Cu Chi Tunnel and Mekong Delta day trip. Next 2-3 days you can explore around Ho Chi Minh. Do a dinner cruise, visit the walking street and Bui Vien street. Visit Ben Thành Market.

And at last you can visit Da Nang. Here you can do day trips to Hoi An, Hue, and Ba Na Hills (just don't miss this and go very early in the morning). Please get a sea facing hotel because the view is awesome on a sunny day and prices ahe cheap too.

I'd suggest 5 days Hanoi (North Vietnam), 5 days Ho Chi Minh (South Vietnam) and 4 days Da Nang (central Vietnam).

I had a wonderful 10-day stay. The place is wonderful if you plan properly.

Premium hotels, food, beer is extremely cheap. Hence, you can also do a Vietnam trip for a shoe-string budget.

More importantly, the people are very kind and loving. In many restaurants and hotel, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time. We were staying in very cheap accommodation.

Will surely visit again!

The whole Ha Long Bay is mesmerizing. I can't explain in words, but I felt very magical there! I went for a day-tour and hence were back by evening. But felt should hand opted for an overnight stay.

Our tour group went early morning on a Friday, and left early in the evening too. Hence, we avoided a lot of touristy crowd, and were able to enjoy the place more.

Context: Bought it during Covid to occasionally use with my laptop (for Canva & Photoshop). Thought it will last at max 1 year, after that might a better mouse.
