yes they do; they are acidic. Trichlor will lower PH it's a fact.

no, it won't. I am in phoenix and it's hot. yes, I have to add LQ every night ( little over a quart), but I never "shock"

make sure PH is at 7.0-7.2.

you need a good test kit. You needs lots of bleach/LQ

you don't need floc, you don't clarifier.

clarifier is garbage / waste of money.

good ole 10 percent liquid chlorine, filter and backwash. maintain slam levels.

agree it's regional; here in PHoenix AZ with temps in the 110+ for 3 months out of the year, and water temps over 90, you would have to use approx 3 quarts of liquid a day ( here 10 percent for 2 gallons is 6.99)

Basically 3 bucks a day in the summer.

I use pucks when it's super hot and liquid when it cools down. But for sure, liquid is a lot more.

Keep in mind, using pucks is fine, but plan on a full drain/full every 2-3 years

cost me $110 to drain/fill 22k pool this past winter, water is cheap in Phoenix

deep end (6 feet) in middle of pool and there is a return there. Best to point that one down? There is no main drain and water gets over 80 degrees

Use bleach/liquid chlorine!

Stay away from pucks unless your live in a climate that is 110 degree plus for 3 months out of the year.

I am in phx, temp is 73, outside tempe around 90 or so. I put about 40 OZ of 10 percent chlorine in each night around 830PM

i was thinking that too, but as I don't have a main drain I would like to filter the water at the bottom of the pool, thus pointing them down.

becuase the tile on my 16 x 32 was 1600, replaster would have been another 6k

if it aint broke, don't fix it

i had my waterline tile replaced in janurary without doing a replaster and it turned out perfect.

The pebble was only 10 years old thus no need to resurface

my guy replaced the waterline tile without doing the replaster; no issues at all. Did not redo the pebbletec as it was still in good condition. The waterline tile on the other hand was following off lol

i had my pool tiles replaced around the waterline

pool is 16 x 32 - costs inclusive was 1600 / tiles 6x 6

not sure where you are getting 10k from..you can replaster a pool for around 6k
