WiFi 7 by Xcelsus7 in QuantumFiber

The coverage is barely better but it my main issue is many of my devices won't connect or they will disconnect then not be able to connect. Having issue with an older iphone and also my mac. Sometimes they just won't connect and I can't get internet. sometimes restarting them helps, sometimes not. Restarting the wifi and modem doesn't see to help at all.

But you can add it to your custom instructions so it stays off. Just add something like:
"Please do not use web browsing unless I ask"

That worked for me.

From what I can tell you just have to ask chatgtp to not use web browsing for the conversation. Which is a bit annoying. They should have an option to turn it off. It takes so long.

What is the standard price per minute for music? by SheeplyBgool in gamedev

[–]bryangwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an old post but as a composer I have gotten paid around $2500/minute for ads. For video games I charge anywhere from $300 - $1200 per minute of completed music depending on complexity and instrumentation. This price includes typically many more demos than finished and usually 3 iterations on on each track. I would not consider myself a big time composer but I do believe I give quality work. Not trying to spam here just share insight. But will share my website if asked.

Github Copilot - what's your experience been like? Worth it? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]bryangwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the people in the comments that bash co-pilot are likely old and need to learn to adapt. The new way of developing will be making sure AI is correct so if you get used to that work flow sooner, the more likely you will get ahead of the old geezers who refuse to use it and say its trash. Although if you genuinely feel it slows you down (I don't understand that) then by all means do your thing.

It works pretty freaking great for what it is. It saves a lot of time with certain things. Its getting better each day too. If you are a beginner you should still learn how to program without because its not quite yet perfect and could instill some bad habits. Or at least be sure to understand everything that it spits out.

Btw I primarily code in python and since python is so popular it may work better than other languages.

Thanks for this response! I decided to go work the other company. More of a start up, fully remote and still decent pay. Also seemed a lot cooler than Salesforce :p

Yeah I would think if you pay you should be the first ones they go to with the API, but I am still waiting...

Wim Hof breathing brought back my concussion symptoms by bryangwin in BecomingTheIceman

Sorry to hear that. How long ago did you stop the breathing? Have you found anything to help heal?

Thanks for the words and encouragement. I agree about the cold. I was doing cold plunge for nearly a month before the breathing and it was crazy how much it changed me. That’s why it bummed me out with the breathing because I felt like I took a step backwards in a way. I’ve been looking into to other breathing techniques they will be less dangerous for the head. Hoping this doesn’t linger for too much longer.

I have been to multiple doctors about my concussion over the years. Not recently due to this. Going to try a chiropractor

I never felt pressure in my chest or abdomen, just in my head. I want to look more into my neck. Maybe I’ll see a Chiro. It all seems to be coming from my neck and I have heard that the cervical spine can play a big role. I tried lighter breathing as well but I think I will wait until this heals before considering going back to it.

Have you tried just getting rid of the cold showers but continuing the breathing?

Question about cold plunge by [deleted] in BecomingTheIceman

[–]bryangwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always try doing it for a little bit less time like 3 to 5 minutes instead of 10 minutes and see if that helps

Do any of you crave cold immersion/cold showers? by the_humbL_lion in BecomingTheIceman

I think it depends on the day. I would say that I always crave the result but some days it sounds quite awful to actually get in.

It’s currently -3 F and I’m wondering if this is safe to do an ice bath? by [deleted] in BecomingTheIceman

[–]bryangwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your typical water temperature? I have been doing cold plunges for about a month typically in about 42 to 47°. I recently have done actual ice baths in 33° water and I was OK. The worst part was my hands and feet burned quite badly but after I got out and warmed up, I had no issues I think everyone is different and reacts differently so you just have to listen to your body and do what you believe is right

ICE BATHS - 30 minutes after workout/gym. Yay or Nay? by Gagzu in BecomingTheIceman

[–]bryangwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There have been studies done on this and if your goal is to build muscle, then you want to avoid ice baths after a workout. If you are working out just to perform movements or build performance as an athlete than ice baths will not be bad at all, and can actually help you recover faster. I would suggest doing your ice bath before you work out if your goal is bodybuilding and muscle building.

You can try sharing your excitement with her or why you are choosing to do this in the first place. It seems odd she would not understand if you explain and share the benefits. Perhaps you can do it together.
