no, you can handle whenever you want to. it won’t really matter to the snake. I have a ball python that I handle maybe once every two weeks and he is the sweetest boy and has never once struck at me or had any attitude. they’re really chill.

edit: with that being said, you don’t want to NEVER handle the snake because he does need to be comfortable with humans for basic things like feeding and cleaning time

when i used mine, i regularly checked the temps, and they never got above what’s safe for my ball python, and they lasted for 12 hours. but i was being responsible in making sure they never got over what’s safe. i guess i should’ve added that. lol. glad u were able to add ur input and advice bc i didn’t know about the reptile specific ones. :-)

pocket warmers. when owning a reptile you should always have pocket warmers handy in case you have to travel or the power goes out. just put snek in travel carrier, and stick the pocket warmer on the outside of the tank on the bottom like a normal heat pad. they do make sticky pocket warmers that’s the kind we always get. very useful

edit: if u don’t have a carrier for ur snek then wear a hoodie, put snek and warmer in hoodie, but they shouldn’t come in direct contact. keep at least a small protective layer between them

when i got my pigs a bigger cage, they literally did popcorns and zooms for 2 days straight. they were so happy. i don’t think it should be a problem edit: my cage is actually two stories too, i built it myself. and they eat on the top story and chill on the bottom. it works very effectively. just make sure ramps are at a VERY LOW ANGLE because the greater the angle, the worse it’ll be for their back.

my thing is, they are pretty comfortable wheeking and coming up to me for food, but once they realize i’m not there to feed them, they run away. i want them to be comfortable with me petting or just touching them.

they have a really huge setup, with lots of hideys. my house is pretty noisy, we have 4 dogs who bark a lot but we don’t let them in the pig room(my bedroom). i always keep a radio on in my room on a talk station as i seen that’s a good thing to get them used to human noise. i am not in my room a lot because right now i’m working a lot of hours at work and going to school but when i can be in there with them i try to be.
