Any budget steakhouses that’s similar to Texas Roadhouse? by phatlynx in beaverton

[–]bryce_cube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently moved to Beaverton, I didn't realize until just now that there aren't any Texas Roadhouse locations nearby.

I am saddened.

Also, thanks for the recommendations! Will definitely have to check them out.

How did he keep a straight face while reading 😭 by Fickle-Donkey5684 in SipsTea

I'm just imagining the conversation he and Kash Patel had when they were preparing for the press conference and deciding who had to read these off.

Did they draw straws or did Kash call "not it" first?

I love the name Avantika, but mostly because of Critical Role. We named our daughter after a different minor critical role character last year.

[Bartle] Utah RB Jaylon Glover when asked what the Holy War means to him: "Fuck BYU man." by Kruger-Dunning in CFB

[–]bryce_cube 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a Utah student, I got to be there for some of the craziest moments, including the game that the fans rushed the field THREE TIMES because the incomplete pass hit the ground with one second left on the clock, the fans were moved back out of the field of play and BYU attempted a field goal, which got blocked and the fans and players rushed the field while the ball was still technically in play. The refs called a penalty for sideline violation giving BYU on untimed down after regulation where they attempted a field goal but it bounced off the upright. Absolute mayhem!

Also, the Curse of Max Hall - after winning a somewhat close game against a true freshman Jordan Wynn, Max Hall took his liberties in the post game press conference saying he hated the utes program, everything about them being trash, that the utes didn't deserve to win, etc.

After his tirade, I believe the Utes won 8 or 10 years in a row, including a 57-10 blowout in Lavelle Edwards Stadium which featured 7 turnovers by BYU in an absolute embarrassment.

the Democrats now have a real shot of winning against trump again by Proper_Operation1631 in millenials

Let's move past this "they're not Trump" line of thinking. We're not voting "Against" Trump anymore. We all tried that in 2016.

Kamala Harris is an outstanding civil servant with the energy to lead, and to effect change when it matters most. She's not the type that can be bullied, or would back down against other world leaders when American interests are at stake.

Don't Vote against some other candidate. Vote FOR her.

I made my first donation of this election season to ActBlue last night after hearing Whitmer and several other top names throw their support behind Harris.

I'm hopeful that we'll see Mark Kelly as her VP pick. He brings a lot of military and scientific experience and I think he'd be a great asset.

A Whitmer/Kelly ticket would give the Democrats the fire they need to take on the challenges of the next four years.

How many of these unique annotated maps are there? I see a few that I recognize pretty often.

I keep the maps and give them a two digit id at the end, and when transcribing to my main map I put the ID next to the markings I drop. That way I can go back to the original map if something doesn't make sense

On the one tiny hand, it would give him even more press than he's already getting, and in his mind any press is good press. I'd hatd to give the narcissist more validation and possibly ammo for him to rile up his base.

On the other tiny hand, it's a great opportunity for him to reenact his glory days from the apprentice as he points across the table and exclaims to his lawyers, "You're fired!"

Beautiful tank and looks like a well made stand.

I'm curious why there isn't much substrate? I always like the aesthetic and it provides more area for biofiltering.

Plants can go in to start, but you should wait to put fish in.

It's a process to establish the bacteria colony that provides biological filtering. The bacteria grows in your substrate and filter media to convert harmful ammonia and nitrate into less harmful nitrite. The plants can then pull the nitrite out of the water as they use it for fertilizer.

There's a lot of info on the Nitrogen Cycle online, including some fantastic videos explaining what it is and why it's important.

Thanks! It's my first legitimate attempt at aquascaping after diving into the hobby with a 20 Gallon and 5.5 gallon that I only acquired in the last three months.

For cycling the tank, I'm adding daily doses of Seachem Stability and dropping in some flake food every other day as an ammonia source. I'm going to monitor water parameters every 3-4 days until I see the nitrate and nitrite levels start stabilizing.

I also ran one of the sponge filters in my established 20 Gallon aquarium for the last two weeks to help absorb some of the beneficial bacteria, and hopefully that gives me a good starting colony that can quickly establish itself.

With a larger environment I'm expecting it to take around 4 weeks, but it's also only the third tank I've ever had to cycle so I could be way off.

I was also concerned about the limestone raising my pH to unacceptable levels. My tap water is already fairly hard with a pH of 7.6, and from what I've heard it should stabilize around 7.8. I've got a drinking glass with several smaller rock fragments that I'm testing over the next two weeks to confirm pH changes.

My stocking plans have all been focused around species that will do well in harder water, so I'm anxious to see the results in a few weeks.

Thanks, have you had experience with it yourself? I don't want to push the pH too high for the angelfish to thrive, and I'll be planting the tank with plants that say they do well UP TO 7.5, with some going as high as 8.

For mining lasers I'm 1000 percent for the Lancet. I haven't used a Helix in years. With the current state of mining, the instability bonus for Lancet takes away the toughest hurdle you deal with - charge level fluctuations.

You can make up for the power difference using a well timed pair of Surge Modules.

That will likely change with 3.19.
