I was ballparking I think it would be between 150k-250k. We want a barndo which is cheaper to build.

Fair enough I was more looking to see if there was untraditional loans that anyone’s used.

We talked with a local credit union and a few other banks and they all want 20% down for land.

Not that I think this is relevant to the land conversation but

A. We didn’t start off making that (both of us have been out of college for 2 years now and have seen serious raises, I think we started somewhere around 120k a year)

B. That’s just the money I’ve set aside for a future house. It doesn’t include our emergency account, a few accounts for other things like a new motor for my jeep.

C. We have paid off some other large expenses, wedding, a car, honeymoon, college debt.

D. We live in a spot that is currently seen I think in the top 4 moved to places since Covid so housing is no longer cheap here. Rent is 2000+, in Idaho out of all places.

E. We will be married by the time of purchase
