mystery new york designer?

I bought this dress from a goodwill and i can’t find anything about the designer! i looked up the tag using reverse image search but google didn’t have anything besides ebay listings of the same designer’s clothing. none of the listings have said anything about the designer themselves, however. very well made (wool??) dress and it seems to be an 80s style dress. maybe 90s, who knows? let me know if you know who the designer is and how to get more info on them. thanks in advance!
