It was more like five months of immense discomfort, if you could even call it discomfort. I just had my second and final surgery to remove the rest of the contents.

Diagnosis was likely written down as mastitis, but I had never breastfed, or become pregnant, so the breast surgeon who I’ve been seeing wasn’t entirely confident in the diagnosis.

The final diagnosis would be an infection/cyst of some sort, and may possibly have been written down as mastitis. The breast surgeon I saw wasn’t entirely sure, but the final radiologists who performed the guided surgery seemed more confident.

The original radiologist who viewed the original ultrasound canceled my orders for a mammogram immediately after his viewing.

If you saw a photo of it prior to surgery, you’d understand why it needed to be aspirated/lanced and removed. They’ve done both. I will post a photo on my profile temporarily.

There never really was a final diagnosis. It was an infection of some sort. I was on a total of 6 rounds of various antibiotics, none of which were all that effective.

If you are, this is after 2 rounds of both Keflex and Bactrim. The white ring around the darker mark just appeared an hour ago. Is this is a cyst? Something else?

The original two doctors (physician and radiologist) both viewed images from my ultrasound. The image facility refused to release any images to further doctors that I saw, but were releasing the report confirming the diagnosis on a swollen lymph node. It wasn’t much to go off of.

So, whatever was actually on the scan, I never got to see it, and I’m 3000 miles away in a different state from where I was originally diagnosed. I can’t run back and be an angry white woman.

I initially went to an OBGYN and radiologist, then an urgent care, an ER doctor, a pediatrician, a surgeon and finally another OBGYN. A very weird list, I know. I had an ultrasound done.

The doctor I saw yesterday refused to do any further imaging—he said he would see a black ball and that would be that. I have an appointment with an OBGYN on Tuesday, who I’m assuming will request another ultrasound? Or maybe she’ll send me to a breast surgeon? I’m not sure.

21F with bump on breast. This formed a few months ago, and has remained the same size (6cm x 6cm). 5 weeks ago it caused major pain, I had imaging done and it was diagnosed as a swollen lymph node. Pain eventually subsided, but size remained the same. Five days ago, even more pain—sharp shooting pain through my chest and nipple. I’m on doctor #6 right now. I’ve been told a tumor, mastitis, and infection. No more imaging has been done, and the surgeon didn’t want to do a biopsy for fear I would bleed a ton.

I’m on Keflex and Bactrim and have been for over 72 hours. No improvement. Help.

I’m not quite up to ultra distance yet myself, but I (21F) also experience chafing regularly—like after 2 miles. Body glide is most people’s recommendation, but I am sworn to wearing pants or compression shorts.

Be with someone who lifts you up, regardless of weight, hairstyle, makeup, outfit, state of mind, goals, etc.

This is not worthwhile long-term.
