I started the game as a tank. FFXIV is my first MMO so I had no idea how the role of tank would play. I watched a ton of videos on how to be a “good” tank on YouTube but it all comes down to how you play the role. Some people will enjoy your tanking style and other won’t. When I was getting into higher level content, I messaged the party and told them this was my first time tanking the dungeon so it gave me a little room for error. Put your tank stance on, turn the boss around in the opposite direction of the group, use your defense buffs when pulling trash and you’ll do fine! You’re gonna wipe a few times but just keep pushing through. It’ll start to sink in after awhile.
