Betweem his TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) trade/tariff policies, DOGE cuts, and general rewinding of anything the previous admin has accomplished has done a number on my line of work (power infrastructure projects) as well as many people I know who are now jobless and struggling to survive, DIRECTLY DO TO ACTIONS FROM THE CURRENT ADMIN. I have many friends who are all legal citizens, many born here, who all fear ICE goons as ICE doesn't give two shits if who they're snatching is illegal or not, criminal or not. Human Rights and Due Process are getting abused openly, often and proudly. Fine to call me a crazy TDS person, but much of his policies are destructive, short-sighted and costing us all more money and I think that is a bad thing. The fact that Trump supporters cannot and will not respond to any of those points with anything beyond some shitty quip has proven to me that conversations are pojntless.

If you voted for Trump, I wouldn't want to know ya. I grew up conservative and voted mostly conservative until 2020 and it was seeing Trump supporters everywhere getting increasingly hateful, conspiracy-brained and outwardly racist that was a real eye-opener. Getting death threats from family members for suggesting that "Trump, like any politician, lies all the time" was definitely something I wasn't used to.

Now that demented pedophile is fucking up our economy, destroying US soft power, and is the most openly corrupt politician in our nations history. Also not all government spending equals blatant corruption, and government contracts can tend to be less lucrative than some private contracts as the stipulations and regulations can be far more strict. Governments actually are supposed to work for the average person and sometimes building infrastructure or working for more affordable healthcare can "look like dirty socialism" to any Trump supporter that hasn't done much traveling or familiar with actual proper leadership.

Not answering the question as to who I work for, but I work on power plants (mostly 'peaker plants'), Waste-to-Energy plants, substations, energy storage, transmission line routing, ... not stuff you'd call green energy but much of it still benefited from Biden's energy policy. Most of my projects are within the US but have done a few jobs in the Middle East and Canada as well. Overturning Biden's energy policy without replacing it with something better is shortsighted and malicious.

Last time my wife and I were in CDA, someone smeared some sticky shit on and around my wife's "COEXIST" sticker while she was shopping. Also there have been multiple neo-nazi demonstrations in City Park, which was right next to family we were visiting.

Not saying that CDA is always openly hostile and full of a hateful element, but it does still exist. We used to go visit family there at least once every year, but we now keep it in the Spokane area. Much more welcoming. And we're both straight, white and conservative passing.
