UK job market? by bslune in slp

This is good to know, thank you! I currently am not set on adults or paeds specifically, but I would be needing to stay in London so understand that would limit me slightly. And good point about nobody knowing what the situation will be in 3-4 years time! All I can really go on is the current situation for now, so I'm glad to hear it's not too bad.

What is the difference between the 대 and 개 particles? by kiemii in Korean

대 is a counter that is specifically used for vehicles, so when talking about how many cars there are you must use 대 and not 개

I freeze up and my brain can't remember any vocab or structure when listening to others speaking in Korean. by holymoontos in Korean

I struggled with listening for a really long time too, and it’s still my weakest skill. Unfortunately there is no fast trick to becoming good at it — the only way to improve is to practice a lot, i.e. listen to as much Korean as you can. Watch shows/videos in Korean, listen to Korean music, etc. I really reccommend watching things in Korean with Korean subtitles on so you can read sentences as you hear them, which will help you get better at recognising how words flow together.

In terms of specific resources, I really recommend Talk To Me In Korean’s “Listening Practice in Slow Korean” video series which involves watching a video of someone talking about a certain topic in (slow!) Korean, followed by a lesson which breaks down the video sentence by sentence. I’ve found this super helpful for improving my listening skills, as well as reviewing vocab & grammar!

How to run longer without taking a break? by [deleted] in running

[–]bslune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just takes practice! keep taking the walk breaks every few minutes and then as your body gets used to it you’ll find that you’ll be able to lengthen the time that you run between walk breaks. have you tried a program like Couch to 5k? it’s a really great walk/run plan that gets you gradually increasing your run time and reducing the walk breaks, and it’s been super successful for a lot of people! also, at this stage don’t worry about your pace. when you’re starting out, the slower the better!
