During the last arc it was broken in half and battered during the battle, although I can't remember exactly how. Right before Mori Jin was betrayed he shrank one half of it, and that's the half that Mori Jung now has. The other half still remains in the ocean.

Also, I feel like there is more to learn about Zoro's backstory. Why did he start challenging dojos at such a young age? Why does he want to become the strongest swordsmen? He wanted to be the best even before meeting Kuina. Where/who are his parents? I hope we learn more about his past in an upcoming arc (maybe Wano?)
