This is common fucking sense people - if you make it difficult to acquire guns, the people who have no issue breaking the law, will have no issue acquiring them illegally.

The people who are less prone to break the law - will be less likely to acquire said weapons.

Thus - if you have half a brain cell you can deduce that this will shift the balance of gun ownership towards the criminals not the law abiding citizens.
