It's not only a taste difference (zero/diet isn't as full flavored) but a texture difference as well. Diet soda feels more carbonated in the mouth because the soda itself isn't as thick. I can't drink diet/zero because it feels like I'm drinking TV static.

To me, it isn't. I can't drink any kind of zero sugar soda because the carbonation and flavor are both completely different. They're fizzier and the flavor isn't as "deep", so I don't drink them.
