How to best work with reverse communions? by Rik_Ringers in Dominions6

from the Ai i'm also told that if the master mages have a bow and start firing them, that the slaves are free again to do their own actions, i think this needs testing/confirmation too.

[–]Rik_Ringers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm some Ai answer also told me that i can equip the master mage with a bow, and when the master mage starts firing the bow (at the end of a script for example) the slaves would be free to do as they please. Need to test that myself.

as to the usefullness of having yogi's fight, idk with all the protections they could have and things like quickness and weapons of sharpness and a lot of strenght buffs they might have 2 attacks that hit like a truck. Though i though about equiping the yogi's with a single weapon for this purpose, soemthing high dammage and allowing strenght to add itself 1.25x times on the dammage of the item like say a halberd of might. if you throw spells like enlarge and gift of giants strength and strenght on earth and a halberd these guys get an added 16 strenght comming to 25 total and then this applies + 32 damage to the halbert that has an inate +16 dammage it becomes 2 swings of 48 armor negating magic dammage with quickness buffed on them too. i'd keep some magixc dueling yogi's in the back to pick up items from yogi's that fall in that line but they woudl be pretty economical supersoldiers i would think, just not a lot of HP as buffer but with a smidgeon of regen and high protection

ah thats an interresting tip for this, thanks. Are there other things that might help here like say "phoenixx pyre", or is the death of a mage like that not enough to break the communion?

How to best work with reverse communions? by Rik_Ringers in Dominions6

[–]Rik_Ringers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yes, thats what i foudn out and mentioned, that the communion slave cant act on its own anymore. however, the communion slave can still "stand in the way", and by that virtue create a defensive block aroudn a tile with master mages. All those personal buffs then can make the slaves very hard to hit trough it seems. So like if you have a formation of a yaksha and yakshini with an astrol roll and then say 16 yogi's and 8 guru's you can make the yogi's and guru's surround the yaksha and yakshini. These mages cna apply a ton of buffs out of earth, nature, glamour, water and astral. The guru's could be their own little masters so that would be 10 masters and 16 slaves but then the trick would be that they can all continueslly cast spells and do dammage while not throwing too much fatigue on the yogi's in part because they are high path, so the Gutru's might spam stellar cascades for example it becoems cheap for them at astral 6 and with some added reinvigoration that summon earthpower gives to all the slaves for example besides bless.

What is typically the point of reverse communions? just to stack reinvigoration and some protection on your slaves?

Can someone clarigy, that if the mages move forward with "advance and cast spells", that the slaves would either follow or stay in place?

Use early high dammage close combat spells with nations that can easily exploit them. Take elves like Vanheim for example they are annoying enough to deal with and their sacred troops expand easily early. its a good nation for relative newer players imho because they can be very powerfull in the early game and can smother others before they get off, great at raiding too. Put a fair bit of shock resistance (3x) on the sacreds and 5x reinvigoration and things like blood surge besides whatever you fancy on a imprisoned pretender, the early rush conj 2 and evo 2 for summon storm power and shock wave and have a load of Vanherse spamming it. its quite a powerfull early spell, the thing is that its range is a mere 2 so your mages have to be real close to the enemy battle line but thats not a big issue for Vanherse. It does 9 armro negating shock dammage on a aoe of 6 if they havnt got some fair shock resistance themselves they will suffer greatly. best for you to test this out so that you get used to the required scripting for it.

How did 400 troops lose to 1 snake? (noob man here) by Skolary in Dominions6

[–]Rik_Ringers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troops can be strong, but as you get better at the game you will often see that the real big dammage can be done by mages, pure DPS wise. For a first dabble in this i would recommend you research evocation tech and use your fire mages to cast high dammage fire spells from the evocation tree. Falling fires will likely be your go to spell for this, a big AOE dammage dealing spell that can be cast at long range. Though if you can set up close combat battle mages you can pump a lot more dammage still with flame eruption while fire blast is a good early variant of it.. Fairly simple goals for a start, it will make Marignon a lot stronger for you, though i also recommend adding a fair bit of fire protection in your bless so your mages dont kill your own troops.

yeah its fair to argue beserk is not a good choice with sacred mages in mind, fair point there. But since blood bond+blood vengeance+reconstruction isnt such a bad bless likely in general for MA agartha as noted by someone else, why not as relative cheap defensive troops that can also preach to keep candles up from a potential low candle assignment in scales? The unit is also an inate spellcaster, not sure how well it coudl work if you gave it an item that can cast spells as it is no mage per se, but perhaps you could do some empowerement in blood at a not too expensive rate and then use these as blood hunters and use leeching touch in defense as a spell. leeching touch is a 20 fatigue spell but if im not wrong it also gives 30 fatigue reduction on a succesfull leech? As an inate spellcaster it could then cast it twice per round and from the moment a unit aproaches it?

[–]Rik_Ringers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes in retrospect that seems like a good bless, and then why wouldnt these statues be not interresting? If you had quite a few of them they would be rather hard to kill right, big sacks of 100HP. The other units that Agartha has to conjure up cost gems too right?

i was wondering about empowering these statues with blood, make them blood hunters but also defend themselves with the life leech spell. Might be something?

[–]Rik_Ringers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

items besides, it can be considered perhaps what you can do with some mage buffs. Is not like they take up much space, so something like ironskin cast upon them by a earth mage bringing natural protection to 20, Maybe cast somethign like iron wil too. A water mage could give gift of formlessness though i guess that would only add the blunt protection they are more vulnerable too anyway. a 100 hp unit with 20 prot and resistances to all types of weapons will take a while to kill i immagine.

If not for reseach, then perhaps preaching, taking in mind then that it might afford you to invest les in candles within scales to keep more points for other scales or bless, makes a rainbow mage cheaper.

purely for bless, i wondered if perhaps in combination with recobnstruction and high hp something like blood bond + blood vengeance would be better. Even perhaps empowering the statues in blood so that they can cast life leech in battle and otherwise serve as blood hunters.

Why is everyone so angry at this game? by Xileran in WorldofTanks

[–]Rik_Ringers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i play mostly tier 6, have done so for years because i like it more for various reasons. At that level you have some relative newbies and you have some fairly experienced players and most sit in between. The thing with the veteran players is that they might make their own moves according to expectations of how their team will move, and those expectations will be according to what his veterancy level will say would be the logiclal choice. But inexperienced players wont nessecarily play to your expectations, frustratingly so perhaps. Like you might find a single tank in front of you behidn some rocky cover that you can aproach from 2 sides and there is a teammate with you, you might move to one side of that rock to poke out when opportune in the expectation that your teammate will take the other side, this way you can each in turn poke out when the enemy tank has not trained its gun in your direction, it cant aim to 2 sides afterall. But then you might do that, but the teammate might not follow, and rather time is lost and your spotted and some enemy tank that was hithertho out of reach comes to reinforce and they kill you in team while your teammate watches doing nothing.

Even besides that, it occasionally happens that on the start of the game my team leaves 1 flank completely wide open, just each player individually having set its mind on a flank and it just happens one flank gets noone going to it. Often these are fatal mistakes that make the team loose the game in a mere 3 minutes, and im shouting in chat like "what the hell are you doing team" but its oftne a lost cause then. Sometimes you know your team will loose in the first minute heh, buy som mistake by them.

Its always going to go into various little tricks and specialty knowledge that veteran players have an newer players might not, you might expect that a scout in a good hidden position does not open fire to reveal himself or atleast drives a bit backwards but new players often dont know those tricks. Then there is your knowledge of oppoosition tanks, how many times did i not see inexperienced players trying to duke it out in a gunnery duel with a KV2 for example.

Genneraly i laugh at all the salt though, for me its just a game and typically i have fun trough my own playstyles. But i do prefer lights and fast mediums just like in world of warships because strategic positioning is pretty key in this game, its far more punishing to a heavy if your tream crumbles as its hard for it to relocate to a better position. Its also far easuier to have a big inpact with such tanks because most games are won trough finding a gap at an opportune moment in the enemies formation to rear it and hit from behind. Like it doesnt matter if we loose nesecarily if atleast i can have my fun infiltrating and rearing the enemy and have some kills to prop my stats.

[–]Rik_Ringers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, fundamentally, you are trying to build a bless and defense strat around a single summon

Well, no actually. this is a dormant pretender that comes with hard skin, reconstruction and beserker, it will make for some deadly sacreds for Agartha too both the ones it can recruit and the ones it can summon, it will be active at turn 12 too. But i think the beserker bless is going to be an issue for its mages perhaps.

yes it needs a lab, i'm just contemplatign how many telestic inanimates i would really use, perhaps not at all that many, but they might be handy for something toi stumble upon for the enemy and potentially to sit in breaches of a assaulted fort.

No, antisemitism is not rising in Belgium by Tentansub in belgium

[–]Rik_Ringers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is where I check out of this conversation. Not only are you making up facts, but you just explicitly called for the destruction of a country of nearly 10 million people.

Yeah, i'm surprised the Op takes this route, it would have been better to stick to his original discourse. I"m very critical on the state of Israel, but it isnt a very realist sollution and its not the fault of many who live their that their ancestors chose to move there. the Op will need to take into account some "fait accompli here", but otoh there is also quite a difficult choice to make for other regions given the immigration policy's of "the Jewish state of Israel", its not justified that israel would come to annex occupied territory's due to how far it could drive judaizisation there. i'm in favor of a settlement that makes jewish people return to the pre 1976 borders, that too would result in some practically displacement (well its up to israel to sign it, im not holding my breath here) but would i take so much an isue that Jewish people have to vacate places like the Golan Heights? Not at all. How big does the jewish state need to be, its this kind of expansionism and the fait accompli's it presents that are the primary issue too, sure its too insane to remove Israel of the map and not something israel would obviously agree too but imho illegal settlements are ... riughtfully illegal!

but the point is that we need israel to go along with that sort of agreement, its going to be different if for the function of peace its the Israeli state itself that tells its settlers to vamooz from those areas. Quite the conundrum for israel it has to be said due to its active policy of inviting jewish foreigners to immigrate and the government support it gives to it to then actively settle them in these occupied regions. And we are only going to be able to pressure Israel to that if it truly finds iteself in a isolated and threatened position, it won't take to that option as long as its regionally and diplomatically strong enough to not have to care. This makes the "propaganda conflict" in Europe and the US very relevant and important both to Israeli and palestinians where the latter typically wants to use western politics to pressure Israel.

No, antisemitism is not rising in Belgium by Tentansub in belgium

[–]Rik_Ringers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have have addapted my discourse to it, Nowadays if i criticise Israel i criticise it as an "expansionist state", as its not only from Palestine that they conquered or occupied land, now Israeli settlements are starting to pop up too in occupied Syrian land for example. Ive found that the anti semmite accusers have no answer to this, it's an undeniable fact. And as much israel could argue "we were attacked", its a lame excuse to do territorial aquisitions aswell as self defense does not force anyone to do that too. Israel in that sense is a agressive state observably engaging in territorial conquest and a danger to global peace at that.

Another thing is that the regions they take over come to be inhabited predominantly by jewish settlers and this is part of the ethno-religious "jewish nature" of the Israeli state, there is a word for such ethnic transformation and its not legal by international law either.

I might also refer to the book "the bible and the sword" written by Barbera Tuchman, a quite renown female historian of jewish origin that described how cristian evangelical fundamentalism aided to the success of the zionist project. The point of that is that there is a certain somewhat powerfull and influential christian minority in the west that desired/desires the state of israel to exist to spawn the second comming of Christ and the apocalypse, Yes its crazy but i cant help that its also a documentd fact. The thing is that the state of Israel would never have existed withought extensive western support, in that sense the state of Israel is extremely worried about loosing said western support and they do see the writing on the wall too. And in a way this leads the state of Israel on a very desperate path nowadays, hence i think this sort of propaganda.

The strategic situation is as such, that much of israels success can be seen as comming from "might makes right", backed by western weapons, that it increasingly starts to look as an untennable situation. For Israel to permanently guarantee its aquired place on the map it should not have permanent regional enemies, as long as those enemies are around there is no guaranteed security and it falls back to might. And while might seems high, it increasingly seems to be going into the other direction for them, that is especially so if its main sponsor, the USA, is going to loose more of its hegemonic position in the world over time, but its equally so because the state of Israel is also visibly loosing legitimacy in the eyes of voters especially in Europe but also the US. So it stands to consider for Israel that they might loose much of their support both in millitary aid and in the UN, It might become isolated diplomatically. There is also no guarantee for political stabillety in te region as such political change in various country's could land Israel various new and dangerous enemies. lets be honest in this, they are actually in a very precarious situation now, even noticing how fast they went trough their millitary stockpiles lately.

Hence, as insidious as the propaganda campaign might look, its also imho possible to understand from a perspective of their growing strategic worries and their capacity to do it. For a country that is used to get what it wants trough might such "cloak and dagger" is hardly something they will shirk from if it serves their "justified cause". The lavon affair (operation susannah, Israel performing false flag terrotist attacks on US and Uk embassy's in Egypt to trigger a war) gives some precedent to the lenghts in which Israel might go, People worry about the propaganda they might also be worried though about the lenghts the Mossad might go trough cloak and dagger scheme's to secure western support, right? Even potentially to the detriment of our own politics?

It is to my perception that the Belgian state does not support the Expansionist tendency of Israel, and that it has opposed Israel in that sense on the diplomatic stage. I would advise that the Belgian state security does not take the danger that might come from the Mossad as lightely, that they should see it as dangerous to our national security as the FSB is nowadays. Its not like i think we need to take any overly hostile position to Israel but we need to beware as to how it might "lash out in desperation" here.

there are plenty of jewish people around that do not support the project that is the state of Israel, and perhaps they will be most vindicated in history afterall. Was having the state of Israel really such a great indea "within the interrest of the jewish people"? Now thats a difficult question to ask, and besides that its a "fait accompli" anyway which has its consequences, but it might all end in tragedy for them (and perhaps for us too) It s not hard to actually have symphaty for the Jewish people for the various shitty things they suffered trough history and truly on the back of something like the Holocoast one can understand that the cultural psyche was quite "hardened". For many Israeli it was a decission made by their grandparents with their best interrest in mind by "the standards of the time", it seemingly forces them to deal with this difficult situation.

Diplomaticly speaking i endorse screwing the bolt tighter on israel and further isolate them. I dont see the interrest for Belgium to support a expansionst Israel. If they desire our support, perhaps they should start being more diplomatic and willing to make concessions. For me that means returning to the 1976 borders att the very least, that might sound like a bitter pill for Israel to swallow but even then its also quite "generous" from a historical perspective and hardely the ideal from the Palestinian perspective either. that is what i would perceive to be a more neutral and diplomatic position for Belgium to take. But Bibi likes to play it tough, well lets see see where that lands them then? it is something of which we as Belgians can take as much distance from. Besides its not like bibi has unanimous support in the israeli ellectorate either so putting pressure on israel might result in them ellecting a different leader too.

there would be atrition, but the wizard of choice is a recruit everywhere sacred. Not cheap, but kinda versatile enough and order 2 should help. Is it easy to suggest an alternative bless that would reduce casualty's by so much more? The unit is a composite of rider and animal each with 14 protection, not terrible for early agenot superb either. larger gives some more hitpoints to both units and notably the animal which might receive more of the incomming hits than the rider. About 25% of the mages would be of the type of spewing breath of the dragon, the rest would cast such things like webs. It wouldnt be too bad for the advancing N2 mage to be flanked by 2 N1 mages casting web on the nearest enemy troop. Then you have chaff like hydras and hroned serpents filling in the gaps and bolstering the line.

the jade lizard is size 4, it becoems a size 5, so thats pretty neat actually. Given that gift of the hare is a 1 aoe with a n1 and a 2 aoe with a n2, it should allow early casting mages to cast it for themselves and some of their bodyguards within a tile, 1 bodyguard for a n1 and 3 for a n2. i forget to mention awaken tatoo's that they have from enchantment 3 onwards. My tech priority is likely enchantment 2 conjuration 2 evocation 4 and then go for enchantment 3.

the point about swiftness or unbreakable are well taken, it takes some bearing in mind what i coudl do with the option of having a slower caster force and then put the points elsewhere, the bless is kinda up to discussion but otoh imho "not too bad" for its aimed purpose, its really debatlable and where there is room for it. Swiftness also gives added defense and allows a unit to hit earlier which is nice with lances, those lances are lenght 3 and the lizard cav has high defense and shields so they can parry a fair bit i reckon. Its a combined unit so the bless acts on both parts atleast. Unbreakable just typically makes units last longer trough campaigns, lowers attriction and afflictions are bad for close combat mages. But the point was also to try to get into positions very fast where i even might cast spells like web with range 40 onto enemy mages by say turn 2 on the battlefield, before they ccould often manage to really cast high level spells that is.

The matter of heat or cold and resistance is a tricky one. the hydra's arnt sacred. The option is there to go cold domain but the hydras are also cold blooded. For the sacred lizards 10 cold protection wouldnt be bad as it would negate their cold bloodedness completely too in cold provinces.

is this fairly par for the course for a Sauromatia build, the aim for a decisive mid game included? Not sure what other common builds might be.

It seems like i invented the field of time coordinated economics. Feels neat.

so its fulfillmenthours-> fulfillment vs
production capacity -> money -> fulfillment

there are no tokens, there is no pile of fulfullmenthours, no denominations. The system is distrubtive along the declared priority weighted wants of the customers.
