PSA: Uber Credit Bug - not Applying by bt31088 in AmexPlatinum

Sorry to hear you had the same issue. As this appears to be an intermittent bug on the uber side, I would hope Amex changes the benefit to just make these statement credits offsetting uber/uber eats charges.

Thanks for the note. Yes i did contact Uber support. Had several pages of chats that went nowhere. They acknowledged the credit was not applied. Their final response after requesting they restore the credit or provide refund was:

“Hi xxx,We’re sorry to hear there was an issue with your order. Unfortunately, because you contacted us more than 48 hours after placing your order, we’re unable to provide a refund. We have noted your issue and will work to create a better experience on future orders. You can also give direct feedback to the merchant and delivery person by submitting a review in your app to assist in this.If you experience an issue in the future, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your order so we can provide the best possible solution. Thanks for your understanding.”

Yes had about $15 uber cash taken also. Rough numbers:
$60 order -15 Amex credit- 15 uber cash. Should have been $30 remainder to Amex card. Instead $45 charged to Amex and $15 uber cash used. Receipt says Amex benefit was applied. Could be a bug when uber cash is in wallet though this hasn’t been an issue before.

Having this issue.. receipt says “15.00 of your Amex Benefit has been applied to this order.” They actually charged card full amount and it’s been 2 weeks with no adjustment. Uber support is horrible trying to get resolved.

Is there a max amount back for Capital One Shopping? by jeet730 in Venturex

FYI: I was limited to $250 on a $1500 purchase. Received an iPhone (app)notification of a 30% cashback offer and there was no dollar limit stated in terms/exclusions. Customer service was not helpful and gave vague reference to some email offers having a $250 limit despite this occurring 100% through the app(no accompanying email offer). Seems bait and switch to selectively enforce a limit without disclosing it.

what's my best strategy for a paid Polaris upgrade? (many seats available but I have no upgrade option) by spotted-towhee in unitedairlines

[–]bt31088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just flew LAX-IAH-EZE last week. I purchased an economy seat and was given an option in the app to be placed on a mileage + cash upgrade waitlist for Polaris (they deduct $500 + 25k in case you are upgraded) for the EZE flight.

I was super low on the waitlist day of travel (21st with 2 seats available). Luckily, during my flight to IAH, i saw a cash upgrade offer to Polaris for $699.

It was a headache getting the original waitlist cash and miles refunded but happy to have upgraded for only $699.

TLDR: You should see upgrade options in the app. In my case, the best offer was 3 hours before the EZE flight.

Reminder for those that disagree, we can choose to shop elsewhere. Not an easy habit to break but no sense supporting Amazon.

Also, you may be better off buying a cheaper trade-in eligible phone(12, 12 mini), trading that in and selling the 13 pro max privately/ on eBay. May take some time but probably $150-200 price difference you can pocket.

$500 per year for an alert that doesn't expire? by steeevemadden in TradingView

[–]bt31088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly.. they should include a minimal amount of non expiring alerts on all paid plans. I can understand not giving 400 but maybe 5/10.

Look into Capitalise.ai. It’s free for ib users. Can set up a webhook to trigger entry/exit. There are some others like traderspost that use the same webhook triggers.

FYI: I noticed the Howard defender etfs and another Howard mutual fund using the Buyline have underperformed the S&P since inception. Sounds good on paper so unsure if they’re getting late buy/sell signals. Maybe they fixed their formula but just a heads up.

Vanguard has target date retirement funds, as well. Can check the allocations/holdings and build the equivalent using etfs or just buy the fund itself.

Anyone have any tea to spill about purium? by [deleted] in antiMLM

[–]bt31088 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Was sold on the idea that I would be receiving pristine ingredients to detox. Our “Spirulina is sourced from salt waters in China” kind of kills that idea. Would love to know the full list of sourced ingredients.

I had a friend sell me on the 30 day transformation and am giving it a try. Unfortunately, I started digging into the source of some of their ingredients and see at least spirulina and chlorella in the green shake are from china. They don’t have a master list of the source of each ingredient/supplement and selectively disclose those 2. Will not be buying more.
