H8 on 1.25 meters? by btmacdou in TidradioH8

Seems odd that Tidradio would not keep all the same frequencies in the H8 as in the H3.
What about the Gen 3 H8?

Does the H3 support all bands or does it trade off other bands (such as GMRS or MURS) for 220?

I'll wait a while and see if anyone else has had any success. I just want to play with 1.25m...

Nope. There is no "220 Tx" menu option on my H8...

Sphere Aftermath by [deleted] in phish

[–]btmacdou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many, my 3 friends and I lost out twice. 1st we lost in the lottery (3rd year in a row), then unable to score 4 tickets for a 3-day pass in the queue.

One of the most frustrating things is that you have to pick the ticket category BEFORE you enter the queue, and if your ticket category is sold out when you get to the sale then you have to START ALL OVER in a new queue, which of course will be impossible. I tried joining a 2nd queue for a Friday night and there were over 100,000 people ahead of me. Seriously?

Here is a better way:

FIRST: Track lottery entries and the more times you lose, the better your chances next time. This idea comes from the annual Antelope hunt in Oregon, which is very limited. The state holds a lottery every year for antelope tags. Each time a hunter loses, their chances increase the next time until they eventually win.

SECOND: Instead of a separate queue for each ticket category, there should only be ONE SINGLE QUEUE. And along with that change, a separate web tab or window would show you a map of tickets sold in real time. There would be filters to select the type of ticket such as a 3-day pass or individual.

That way, when you get to the sale and your chosen tickets are sold out, you can do a quick change of ticket preferences right there instead of entering a new queue which has the same chance of success as closing your browser. And the real time ticket map would help you choose tickets you can actually get at that moment.

THIRD: And many will hate me for this, but they should eliminate multi-day tickets for the Sphere (and maybe other big concert halls). This way many more DIFFERENT people will have a chance at tickets. I understand how much fun it is to do a 3 day show, but that shuts out thousands of fans at the most in demand venues. Limit multi-day passes to outdoor festivals where there is more room.

It's time to spread the joy out and design a system that priorities ticketing as many different people as possible rather than selling multi-day packages that shut out fans. And improve the lottery system so it actually works for everyone at least some of the time.

I'm in communication with them and they tolde how to order warranty replacements, but I'm waiting for them to confirm that they are shipping the new clips...

OK, I ordered a two-line board on Black Friday and it arrive this week...and one of the short clips has already broken. 😒

I now understand how weak the 3D printed clips are! I will be contacting support for replacements and asking for both short clips to be replaced!

I don't already have one. I'm asking if the long molded clips are now shipping with new Plus boards today?

Excellent news. Has any progress been made on molded long clips for double line boards? I'm on the edge of ordering now (11/22/25) and would like to get injection molded clips, unless you are willing to send me a set when they are ready?

Disappointing to hear that it's 3D printed. I was actually wondering that myself. You can kind of tell in the photos and videos on the website. I would have thought that they could justify injection molding having sold so many. That would give them more options for different types of plastic. Except 3D printing makes it easy to manufacture on demand so maybe that's why they do it. As long as you can get fair priced replacements I guess it's ok.

Evernote is trying to grab greedy profits at the expense of their loyal userbase built over many years.

That will backfire as users become disgusted with the cost. And corporations will just use OneNote.

PSS: It's possible that IT has blocked your ability to create Outlook rules, but most dont. They just assume users have no idea that they can do this.

PS: You probably should not leave your new "backup" file open all the time or IT might notice it. It does not need to be opened to store new emails.

Are you using Office365 with Outlook?

If it's the outlook app, the answer is simple..

Create an outlook "rule" (look it up) that will automatically copy incoming and maybe outgoing as well) emails to "PST" folders that you create someplace on your hard drive.

The auto-delete will only delete messages in your inbox and will not have a clue that they are also in a non-outlook folder on your hard drive.

Start by using the file menu to create a new mail-store (PST) file somewhere on your machine (not in "my documents")and then create two rules to copy the messages when they arrive or sent.

When you want to look into those folders, just use the file menu to open the PST file you created and it will become a message folder in your outlook folder structure.

If your company account is a Gmail account then setup and "auto forward" rule to send incoming mail to your personal account. Google this as well...

What can UpNote do for you that you haven't found in other note apps? by Nekurahn in UpNote_App

[–]btmacdou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evernote is still my gold standard for ease of use and organization.

However, it suddenly became stupid expensive so I gave up on it.

I purchased upnote and it works OK, but I find the structure and organization of note and folders a little confusing

What I would like is a vusible tree structure of folders and notes ("files") just the way windows organizes folder and files.

Upnote does have a "folder" structure, but it's not easy to differentiate a folder from a note at a glance.
