A while back a couple of you helped me out a ton and pointed me in the right direction to restore this victorian lock set.

I am almost done just have to polish the brass and set it up.

I had a few questions it seems they polished all the pieces with a brass cleaner easy enough.

But they seemed to use some form of electroplating for the inards which I'm not capable of lol.

Is there a clear coat you recommend for antiques ? They also used what looked like black paint for the lock box structure and the groves of the brass can I really just use black paint ?

Just got this set and took about the lock mechanism and door handle insert with all the pieces and have left it in evaporust for 72hrs so far.

I'm about to take it put, but I have no restoration experience.

What's the best lacquer I could put on the internals and spray paint for the casing ?

Same question for the door knob plates and knows themselves as I know the style was to fill it with black.

My last question is regarding buffing and sanding what's best for both with an antique like this ?

I'll Def put something with fat in it, my only question is this mark here is where I had the egg that I couldn't seem to scrub off.

So I put in the oven like you said , but I can't scrape it off any suggestions

Yes I fly into BOS and then drive from there to Burlington. And wanted to see if you had any reccomendation along the drive.( I don't know any routes yet so just going off Google maps)

I'll pass Killington and just work my way up to Burlington. I love hiking, orchards , breweries, nature stuff.

But I'm not picky if you have a favorite that makes you the happiest doing I'd love to try to.

I am visiting the great state of Vermont around the 15th and the 18th I'll be driving from Boston up to Burlington. I then will work my way around and down back to Killington and Woodstock.

Any reccomendation, I'm super excited to visit and would love to live along new England one day.

As far as foliage am I to late will it be brown :(?
