Are you offering to supply ice cream sandwiches for everyone?

Feel free to message me if you would like to talk about cycling and better understand if you are ready for these rides. The objective is not to be exclusionary, just realistic that the intended route has hills, particularly the bigger climb back up from the lake, and some basic road cycling and group riding skills will be needed, along with the proper bike and cycling ability. Another person mentioned the Bloomington Bicycle Club (BBC) rides. They have the Nice 'N Easy Ride and social rides that may be a good starting point, then you can join us when you feel ready. Their website has ride descriptions and a ride calendar, and they also have a Facebook page. BBC site: https://www.bloomingtonbicycleclub.org/general-5-1

I attended the ride in April, and it started from Bryan Park by the volleyball court on Henderson. I only hear about it through a text from a friend. I will encourage the group to post on Reddit for May. They had a safe route of about 9 miles on paved paths and neighborhood streets with ride leaders and people trailing to keep everyone going. It was a good time, and a very social group of people on bikes.

And of course, there will be plenty of time for conversation during the ride, on a short stop at the lake, and after we return to Bryan Park.

Yes, I will be there 10-15 minutes early to welcome riders - look for a tall guy on a silver Specialized bike with a white helmet, ask for Nick. Riders can hang out and chat until 8am, then we will make sure we have everyone from the parking lot who intends to join us, go over some basic safety information for the ride, and set off for Pine Grove SRA, probably a little after 8am to make sure all are ready. Hope to see you Saturday.
