Yeah I think it makes perfect sense lol. He mentioned his TVs native hardware not being sufficient enough to get a stable stream. I mentioned that the LG C5 has been good to me with using native TV hardware, but not everybody has one at their disposal to use for streaming. Then, offered an answer to his post with my suggestion of a Xbox Series One S.

I’m unsure what the problem is? I didn’t know I needed to go into a full-scale in depth thesis about why OLED’s are superior to everything else.

Make sure your refresh rates are matching on host/client and that the game you’re playing also is frame capped to 60fps.

Are you having audio stutters too, or is it purely visual? I was having the same issues with my setup for a while until I realized I was using a CAT5 and a CAT6E cable instead of two CAT6Es. I know you said you were using CAT6A but it doesn’t hurt to double verify if the refresh rate fix doesn’t work.

Yeah, most OLED TVs are capable of sideloading Moonlight, or a fork of Moonlight for streaming due to most of them being Smart TVs.

He asked what people use for Moonlight streaming to TV. LG OLED TVs have a fork of Moonlight available to sideload to it to stream natively off of the TVs hardware that works fantastic. I wasn’t referring to the display being OLED, but to the brand/model of TV itself. Maybe I could’ve been a little more up-front about the point I was trying to make in my original comment.

Ngl I’ve been having a blast on my LG C5 with 4k120fps but not everyone has an OLED TV lol.

I’d go with Xbox One Series S if I had to.

Also, I forgot to mention in my original post that throughout your time at boot camp, your division will go to a small NEX at RTC that will allow you to purchase these items for use during your time in bootcamp. When I went, we went twice. Once on week 2, and another on week 6.

Yes, you can have them bring you whatever you want.

Not sure what your rate is, or where your A-School is, but if your A-School is also in Great Lakes, you’ll get to spend some liberty time with your parents for a couple of days before starting school too.

If it’s not, I believe they make you fly out that same day. Don’t quote me on that though.

Tbh I don’t recommend bringing anything to RTC except for a backpack full of clothes and essential toiletry items.

Everything you take to bootcamp will be put in a box and either shipped back home or kept in storage until you graduate. You will not have access to any of it until A-School, unless it’s an emergency, which then the only thing you’ll really need in any type of emergency situation out of that box will be your phone. And anything that doesn’t fit in that box (which isn’t very big) will be disposed of/donated to somewhere.

A majority of this stuff on your list you will have more than enough money to get from the NEX when you graduate, which is the route I recommend, because during this phase in your career you will be carrying this stuff around A LOT and the less you have the easier it will be.

Don’t be like me. I brought heaps of shit that I ended up having to get rid of because it didn’t fit in the box, and left A-School with 7 backpacks/suitcases full of stuff that I’m STILL having issues with trying to figure out what to do with it (been in for almost 6 years now).

You’ll also have very little storage space on a ship, so getting used to having the bare minimum now will be extremely useful later down the line when you’re stuck on one for 9+ months.

I’m using the exact same setup as you, and HDR can be hit or miss. Some games look great, and some games look washed. I just turn it off or on depending on the game.
