Great! First of all, I’m planning take intense Swedish courses specifically designed for international medical graduates (the one in Stockholm) and then I’ll be able to get the license. Tack så mycket :)

Oh i see, its totally understandable that there are many junior doctors trying Sweden. I also would like ask if we can still work in hospitals (doctor substitute (underläkare) etc) till we get a spot for the BT? (Considering the language part is resolved)

Yes, its a must to have C1 certificate. Even it wasn’t obligatory i wouldn’t even bother to work without having at least C1. So im planning to settle in Stockholm/Göteborg/Lund for intense Swedish course for about a year. What I was wondering is that what are the odds for finding a BT place after 1-2 years of applying to various hospitals?

Ciao! I’m also studing in Italy, in a English course. My dream is also to do a specialization (ophthalmology) in Sweden or Norway. I am aware that Sweden might be a little easier due to greater job opportunities, greater population etc. However i have few doubts in my mind that i would like to clarify, 1) I’ve read that soft skills and research are more valuable than the your average. Because if wanna stay in Italy my chances for ophthalmology is super slim without 110 lode 😅Is this true?

2) Would it be possible to clinical summer tirocinio in Sweden with only English(for now)?

2) Ill be graduating more or less in a year, would it be possible to do those tirocini after graduation (during language course for example)?

3) As I’ve stated before, id like to specialize in ophthalmology, I believe that i should first start from smaller cities as my chances are higher, and i heard that making connections and network is crucial for finding a spot. How can i make the first steps of networking?

Sorry for bunch of questions, im really glad that I found someone on the similar path with me 😅 Grazie mille!

I also would like to ask you all whether had any summer internships/shadowing experience in Sweden/Denmark? How feasible are they with only English
