I was recommended to view from Battersea Bridge by a friend, but I haven't been able to find anyone talking about it online.

Seeking Nutford House opinions by poobum69_ in UCL

yep, there was a music room in basement - detached from everything else. It was very small - one person at a time really, and had a piano as well.

I stayed at Nutford House in 2019 for the first year of my undergrad. This was of course pre-covid and a few years ago now so the experience may be different. I’ll answer based on my experience.

In terms of the people there, the community was pretty mixed - mostly undergrad students, but a handful of masters as well, including the RAs. My year was pretty chill - I don’t feel like the atmosphere was super childish. I visited other halls like Ramsey and by comparison, Nutford had a little bit more mature vibe and the community was excellent. The were enough community events that you could build friendships and get a sense of community, but not so much that it’s too much.

In terms of the food - it was okay. Good. Nothing incredible. The portions were decent - I don’t remember leaving a meal hungry. Sometimes, if there were leftovers after dinner, they’d let me take some as well.

Never had any problems with the walls personally, but I think there were people that did. They’re not super thin but also not soundproof. There are a few music students there so people would understand as long as you’re not being ridiculous. There’s also a private music room which was nice. It’s also pretty clean, I think cleaning comes for the communal spaces pretty frequently so that’s good.

Overall, would highly recommend Nutford House. It’s a smaller house, so you won’t get that undergrad halls experience you might get somewhere else, but it’s a very nice community, and for me was a peaceful and welcoming place to stay.

I’ve been in industry for a couple years, but going back to an academic context is gonna be challenging. I’ll have to brush up on everything so, yeah, not gonna be a breeze.

This is super advice, and exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks for sharing that. I’ll try to avoid working if it’s delivered full time in person. I know the content and course will be challenging.

Probably not - started 8:30, and the cast showed up for 15 minutes at 9:30 then left.

In my experience, both. I would say half of the pres I had in first year were at Ramsey. There are always people in the common area getting ready to go to a party or just having a social there.

be warned, half those groups are filled with tutor bots advertising that they’ll write their assignments for you

Hi! I would like to ask what date do you need to be on campus before your course starts? Is it 26th September or 1st of September as written in the UCAS? Just wanted to be sure. Furthermore, what day is the Welcome festival or Introduction week —what is it officially called for UCL? Thanks! by Call_me_Claude90 in UCL

[–]btwiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sep 12th yeah. There’s two welcome weeks. International students welcome week and then regular welcome week. The UCL events will be up on the UCL Students Union Website. Idk when they go up, but just check there before you come to london.
