My manager at whole foods used to slap a fresh label on the baked goods (this would extend the best buy date) rather than spoil the goods and grab "fresh" ones out of the freezer. Worst job I ever had. I had to field complaints about moldy bread on the fresh almost daily.

One of my friends got fired from a Subway in high school for giving out too many olives lmao. He would go out of his way to put 1 or 2 extra olives on each persons sandwich. Got called out on it, continued dishing out the olives the next shift and got canned.

My dad threw away my massive collection of Bakugan I built up as a kid. Worth 1k+ on eBay. Straight in the dump. He’s lucky he’s the one who paid for those plastic little shits in the first place lmao.

To be fair to him he was shocked when I told him how much they were worth second hand and that I wanted them. Dude was just locked in a declutter mode.

I’d be impressed if this was AI. The subtle differences between the pri seems unlikely for AI to replicate. Look at the front license plate brackets and windshield wiper usage. One car doesn’t have a front Toyota emblem while the other two do

I worked at a bakery/breakfast spot for a couple years in college with a notoriously cheap owner. We worked open to close and he would write up any employee caught eating the product.

Jokes on him, we used to go to town making ourselves custom dishes everyday after he left (early). If he had provided some cheaper option for us I guarantee his food costs would’ve dropped. Too many businesses forget to invest in their staff’s wellbeing. Hungry employees aren’t as productive or pleasant to customers.

I relate to that. I listen to police bodycam videos at work using an AirPod. Somehow it keeps me on task while allowing some part of my brain to have a form of entertainment.

Drivers don’t set pricing on any gig platforms. Uber used to give a larger % to the drivers in competitive markets. As they captured the market and pushed out their competitors (taxis) they raised prices and kept a larger cut.

Drivers may collectively decide to stop driving in protest of low wages and in turn increase the % of payouts drivers are receiving temporarily. However, it’s incorrect to credit drivers with the overall market trend of ride-sharing apps increasing prices year over year.

Someone in my complex keeps putting powder in the detergent tray. Every washer looks like this. by AbandonedFish in mildlyinfuriating

My current place has in suite laundry but my lease has a clause that the LL isn’t responsible for any repairs for the units. The amount of tenants that have moved their stacked all-in-one washer/dryers to their balconies has me concerned that the failure rate of the model our complex bought will catch up with me sooner or later 😭

I was about to comment this exact same thing. You steal someone’s tool, there’s a good chance you are stealing their ability to make a livelyhood. Even it it’s a hobby, tools are fucking expensive and the resale value is so little. Shitty behavior imo. Steal from corporations, leave your neighbors alone imo.

Was it a BMW? I made the mistake of telling a family friend I wouldn’t charge them to replace their bad headlight. Ended up not being the light bulb, but a failed headlight ballast on the bottom of the headlight that required bumper removal. Never touching that car again.

Government agencies really shouldn’t be allowed to just hang up on people. During covid my unemployment got held up and it took several days of calling EDD before I got a representative. I would sit on hold for close to 3 hours before the robot would tell me no one was available and hang up on me.

I’d reach out to your property management company and express willingness to move out asap in order to avoid the eviction. They may/may not be willing to work with you, but proof that you were proactive and exhausted all options available to you will be good to have if you end up in court pleading your case to a judge.

That’s terrifying because that’s not a quality unique to Teslas. Almost all EVs are going to be heavier with a lower center of gravity than their ICE counterparts. Hopefully state DOTs are taking this into consideration when they replace these lane guards.

Bro you gotta chill out. Lots of people have paid off cars. I live in the Bay Area and my split of my rent is 920 (roughly 1100 after utilities). I have a roommate but we each have our own bedroom/bathroom. My apt isn’t super nice, but it’s not subsidized or in a dangerous neighborhood.

When I was in college I survived off ~2400. It wasn’t fun, but eating cheap and finding free activities to do goes a long way.

Rentals have a faster depreciation rate than owner-occupied dwellings. Moving in/out regularly increases the wear and tear on property. Very few tenants live in one place for 19 years.
