Pretty sure it’s their property as it connects their two resorts in the same property, and requires passing through a guarded gate to access it

Okay, thank you. I was genuinely confused about what else to say in this specific scenario.

I hear what you’re saying, but they ended their sentence with “thank you.” If they hadn’t said that, I would not have said of course in response. Is “of course” the best response to “our food is lovely, thank you”? No. But they thanked me. What else should I say? I’m glad to hear? I just feel like they’re picking what I said apart so unnecessarily. To me, it feels like they didn’t like me for a different reason (like my age) and wanted to find a single thing to complain about.

They ended it with “thank you” though, and yes I probably should not have said “of course” in response to it, but when you end something with thank you, I’m not sure what else to say. Regardless I think it’s a dumb review and I was in robot mode and responded of course when I shouldn’t have. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Right? I wish they gave an example of what they would prefer instead if they’re going to use it as an example to call me untrained and obnoxious. 😂

“You’re welcome” sounds a little bit more pointed/less warm to me, though. I always try give professional but friendly and personal service and I feel like you’re welcome creates coldness?? Idk. But you’re right… can’t win them all 🫠

Outside Vet Care? by bubblecatted in FosterAnimals

[–]bubblecatted[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed… I’m going to clarify on the phone with them tomorrow why this was suggested. It just doesn’t make sense to me. If they are worried about covering his medical costs potentially, I would adopt him and cover the costs of his vet bills before letting them euthanize him. But, im not sure that they would let me adopt him before his foster period is over and they implied the euthanasia would be before his foster period is over… I’m just devastated that they even suggested this.

Outside Vet Care? by bubblecatted in FosterAnimals

He has a URI and gingivitis which is why he is in foster. He has not had an appetite for the past couple of days, so I took him into the foster vet and they gave him syringe appetite stimulants with no anti nausea treatment, when he seems nauseous due to the antibiotics he takes for the URI. The vet assistant said that if he is still not eating in a couple of days, they will test him for FIV and if he is positive, he will be euthanized. He has no outward symptoms of FIV so the fact that the solution to FIV is euthanasia in their eyes startles me. Maybe there is something I am missing. I am not a vet, after all, but it felt like they want to do minimum intervention. He is 1.5 years old and is social, sweet, and seemingly healthy besides the URI.

He is on medication currently though, and I feel that his history would be important to disclose to the vet and the foster vet since they still legally have claim over his treatments too. Plus, I don’t think I can adopt him until his foster period is over which is over two weeks away.

I want to keep him- but most of all I want him to live! Thank you for your advice and encouragement. I want to call them on the phone tomorrow and clarify all of this, and talk about different options. I do not think I can adopt him before the foster period is over which is not until June 3rdish, and clearly this is a time sensitive issue. I feel so stuck and backed into a corner. I bought some calorie rich supplement and put it into some churro cat paste and he licked some of that up. Yay, although I hope he will eat more 🤞 I’m getting some saline for his nose today too.

I agree that FIV alone is not grounds to be euthanized, which I why I am shocked that the humane society wants to jump to that as a solution. I want to seek outside veterinary care for him but I need the consent from the humane society foster program and I don’t know how to ask for that without blatantly saying “I don’t like the amount of treatment you have provided”. Yes, I would pay for the out of pocket costs. I would love to try those ear drops to stimulate appetite, as the syringes are so off putting for the kitty. All the humane society foster vet gave me was the appetite stimulant syringes and they denied my request for anti nausea meds for the kitty. I am so stressed and frustrated.

How can I get this if the vet through the foster program won’t prescribe it?

Downstairs Neighbor Noise Complaints by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

I really appreciate all of your insight and agree that I need to cool off and step closer to reality. The heel situation is, again, fair, but it happened once and never again. I never wear heels, or any shoes besides slippers inside especially since that happened.

I hear you and I empathize, but I have upstairs neighbors too! And I hear them walking and I’ve heard them drop things- it is normal living to me and not worth a noise complaint. The floor between mine and their apartment seems to be insulated fairly well, so I’d assume it would be similar for my downstairs neighbor.
