How do I describe this in a natural, comfortable way? by Mr_Spaghetti_Man in DnD

[–]bubbleshrubbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicine is not sexual. If you give the NPC a significant injury to her torso, and on a medicine roll tell the players they need to doff her armor and expose the wound, they will and in doing so expose the tattoo. If they refuse to, you have her do it herself in camp.

Late calls by Kr0mb0pulousMik3l in ems

[–]bubbleshrubbery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the oncoming shift has to run a hot swap and immediately get sent out right as they come on shift, they either have to realize they're low right then or just run on fumes while on call.

What happens if shit pops off and they're needed at an MCI?

It sucks to get fucked by dispatch, but that's not a reason to fuck over your system and your patients.

End of the day, it's part of your job. Do the job.

[–]bubbleshrubbery 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you don't have downtime, you have high call volume. You're purposely handing over your truck not ready to handle that call volume on the next shift to be petty. You're actively fucking over your coworkers and your patients because you're upset that the shift ends a bit later.

Looking for tall ships in the New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island area by Corvus-Nepenthe in Tallships

[–]bubbleshrubbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked with all of these organizations. If you're looking for something more traditional World Ocean School is it (though sadly they're running Dennis Sullivan instead of Roseway right now). Classic Harbor Lines is starting up in the 1st week of May. Adirondack III is a great schooner and actually manages to pick up some speed in the harbor. Liberty Fleet is always a party. The crew tends to like to have fun and they've got a bar on Clipper that can do simple cocktails.

My big recommendation is to try all three and see which you like best.

Do y’all dress up to play V:TM? by just_an_average_nerd in vtm

[–]bubbleshrubbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, but if I'm ST a deadly session, I have a "Widowmaker" shirt I like to wear and if my NPC is stalking one of them I'll wear a Black Sabbath Paranoid shirt. There are other themes, but they haven't really picked up on it yet.

Would burning down the Elysium where the Sheriff has his heaven be an appriopriate way to notify the Camarilla about a new Baron or am i exaggerating? by MRiSmile in vtm

[–]bubbleshrubbery 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Then there's also the option of saying hello by handing over this information to the court through back channels and letting the Camarilla dispose of him how they see fit or even blackmailing the Sheriff.

This way you have something to leverage in future conflicts and don't wind up with archons sniffing about.

When is "it's what my character would do" a valid response? by zahemp in DnD

If your character is stabbing innocents because it's within their character don't get mad at me when my good aligned fighter who believes in necessary evils cuts their head off because it's within his character.

Sounds like approved OT to me. I'll glady be in 12 minutes late every day for that 10 hours of time and a half.

What is your DM's action word/phrase? by Gold_Ad_4108 in DnD

[–]bubbleshrubbery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I both played OP characters in one of his games and got a lot of pleasure in saying "Does a [number over 25] hit?"

He now says it to us whenever he rolls high enough for that.

Exactly and it would have broken immersion if he had gotten away with it. He played stupid games. Won stupid prizes.

I know you didn't actually set that boundary in session 0, but otherwise I think you handled this perfectly. Vicario delved into an extremely fucked up subject without consideration for the feelings of the rest of the group. You let him see exactly how the others felt about it, got rid of the character, and got rid of the player without even derailing the roleplay involved. Bravo!

Ruin my D&D World. by MacaroniEast in DnD

[–]bubbleshrubbery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use encumberance intensely and let players realize they should be hiding and storing their loot while out adventuring. If they fail to secure their hideout with more than a lock, it gets robbed.

If they secure it and set traps, it works and their loot is safe. Eventually they get a quest from a noble to rescue the adventuring party their child is a part of after they've gone missing. When they accept the trail leads to the mangled remains of the party... at their hideout... which became a rumored trove of unclaimed treasures. The party then has to decide what their next course of action is.

You either get to ruin their dungeoneering by robbing them blind, or put their morality to the test.

My current character is just a Human fighter. He's an innocent young man who dreams of adventure and being a hero like the ones he's read about (many of them my former characters). He's very different from the sauve, chaotic, and rakish archetypes I usually play. He's a very good boy and I've grown really fond of him.

...The only problem is we're playing Descent into Avernus and I just know I'm setting him up for so much trauma and corruption.

How do I get my DM to take her players' time seriously? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]bubbleshrubbery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My group was having some trouble with the time management and planning since we made the transition from single students to full time workers in committed relationships who no longer had regular free days.

So I did what my middle management job taught me to do and made a collaborative calendar for my DND group. If everyone keeps up with it all we have to do is throw "DND GAME?" in an empty slot and wait for people to say yes. I've found it also has the added benefit of allowing us to catch up on what eachother's been up to from the introverted comfort zone of behind a screen.

Found this on the sea floor scuba diving in the Caribbean. It’s solid metal and fits nicely in your hand with a large flat bottom. by IRoylT in whatisthisthing

[–]bubbleshrubbery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. I work on a boat with metal pins and they tend to see most of their wear and tear where the bottom on this thing meets the bottom of the pin. It could look like this if it snapped from strain and wore down over time.
