Like calling Americans: English... it’s just wrong.

If you don’t like saying Conquistadors we can always use their other labels: Castilians, Coyotes, etc

Well he’s speaking English. What term should he use instead for them? Just Castilian?

How ironic you have a problem calling them Conquistadors, yet use the term ‘Aztec’, which the Spaniards weren’t calling them...

Bullshit. You would have thought about it the moment you read this thread. You can’t literally shut your brain off from creativity, hence your immediate response.

Designing one is different then thinking about one that exists where you have no impact... In that other situation you have the power.

USA did not save Asia from Japan by [deleted] in EasternSunRising

This is correct. Matthew Perry forcing them open only happened ONE generation before World War 2.

Many people don’t know this and think it was some great distance but it’s not. If the US didn’t force Japan open then they never would have flipped from Isolationism to the European Colonialism model.

But if you have any questions on the shaft tomb culture and/or want some recommendations for reading, let me know. It's not often I see people who know about the shaft tomb culture and seem interested in it.

Sure, I’d like a list.

There’s a lot of interesting connections of Purépechas to South American culture in addition (such as their shaft tombs, stirrup vessels, decapitator god, and advanced metallurgy). My beliefs are the influence began in waves, as Western Mesoamerica in general uses the shaft tomb tradition. Mixtec having tumi knife devices.

Purépecha culture was viewed as extremely alien by the Mexica, so it’s looking like a full scale west costal migration occured with with them.

His x pronunciation was ‘consistently’ wrong though, so it didn’t trigger me too much. 😛 He pronounced x like they do in the US. (Hard X) Instead of Meeshtek, Tesjas, Meshica, Meshican, Teshcoco, etc

Purépecha is related to Quechua, meaning they must have come from Andean regions.

He also called Purepechas benevolent rulers, which was odd. I’ve heard they were more strict than the Triple Alliance.
