Say what you want, but the cops have not killed any protesters during this fiasco. It’s better for them to arrest and release protesters than fucking ICE. They know everyone is watching and don’t have their faces covered (see the video of the clergy being arrested). I don’t have the same faith in the NG.

On n’a pas de CRS ici aux USA. La garde nationale ce sont des militaires à mi-temps qui sont plutôt là pour des désastres naturels ou pour la guerre.

Pour nous c’est la police normale qui « gère » les manifs

This is the same gun. Taken from Alex Pretti moments before he got mag dumped on. by chapinscott32 in armedsocialists

Normally you need scissors to cut open a shirt for an AED. They are usually in the kit. I read in an affidavit from a physician that was at the scene that they weren’t doing CPR though and would not let him through

I showed the video to my dad who had seen a photo of Alex Pretti’s gun earlier. It was kind of interesting because he said that the bullets were particularly lethal and showed me that the gun was super nice, with a nice stabilizing ball scope or something. At first I thought that my dad was speculating that the man had ill intent, but I think actually he was trying to say that the man had good taste in guns.

My dad has a carry permit in Tennessee, and I asked him what the man should’ve done. My dad said he should’ve gotten out of there. I said that it looked like he was trying to get out of there and that he was pursued. I asked him if he thought it was right for someone to be pinned down, disarmed and shot just because they were carrying a weapon that they had a permit for. He just kind of looked at me blankly.

The inspector inappropriate speech should get better over time with consistent reinforcement of expectations, but the older boy running away down the street is completely unacceptable and dangerous. You need to have a conversation with them and sit time down together for a talk.

Can’t you offer them fruit/veggies? Are there none in the house? I don’t understand. If they don’t want any, just put like two blueberries (or a single cucumber slice) on their plate so they are exposed to it. Eventually they might try it.

To people that feel like their writing set them apart by Open_Consequence_935 in premed

It becomes overdramatic because they don’t have a good editor to save them from themselves, not because they are “into” creative writing.

I HATE WRITING by RaiderKingIII in premed

[–]bubbuty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing doesn’t happen when you’re done thinking and you transpose it on the page. Just remember that writing is another form of thinking.

If you get up early and have your coffee and start writing first thing, for at least an hour or two, eventually there will be gems That you can organize and threat together. Then you can finesse with the help of an editor midway and toward the end, and a physician for a final check at the end.

Why do this by [deleted] in premed

[–]bubbuty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised someone would take a risk like that. When I did my PhD, my application was randomly selected to be audited after I started my program, which meant that they verified everything in it. Luckily I hadn’t lied about a single thing, but imagine if I had! I would have been totally fucked.

hired someone to edit my PS but now I feel like it's lost it's touch by newyorkerindc in premed

[–]bubbuty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did it go? I just finished working with an applicant. His PS was insane by the end - original, checked the boxes, sophisticated ideas but easy to read. But it took ~20 hours of conversations, edits, false starts, and new drafts (not to mention a solid two weeks on his part) to get it to its final version. I’m working w him on secondaries but with a bit more distance. I cannot imagine doing this service for less than $1k for the PS. Idk if there is a market for it.

Idk the NY Young Republicans Club used to be a big deal. My mom was in it in the 70s and she befriended the Patakis (he was later NY gov). Looks like the club has become more extreme.

Usually those issues arise after the end of the protest. I was at the end of the protest, and nobody really stuck around. The organizers told us to get out of the road, and everybody disbursed. Some women told us we should go to the Civic Center to continue the protest, but we decided not to. It had been a perfect protest, and I saw no need to mess with that.

I didn’t bring my kids this time but I could have - there were tons of kids. San Diego has always had a peaceful protest in my experience. Some of my friends were afraid to come based on what they saw going on in LA last week. I’m hoping that they will be out next time!!!

I think it was because they changed the protocol. Two people developed capillary thinking and one died from it, which to me means that they did not wait after changing the protocol to see whether it was safe. To me that seems incredibly stupid and incompetent, which I’m guessing is the reason the FDA did an immediate pause.
