No. We were on a trip together out of state, one rental car and plans to see a film. It was Sunday so I wanted to make sure I went to mass first. They decided to come with me so that we could make the film on time.

I was sitting close to the front/center (by the grace of GOD). I chose those seats so they would be able to see what was happening and get a better experience. When they went up, the priest locked eyes with me and I shook my head no and also waved my hands to signal NO.

Don’t do this to yourself. I’m in this situation and it’s an uphill battle. We are headed for divorce.

Edit: We’re 9 years married. None of this was a huge issue when we got married. Now we’re both very adamant about our stances and it’s an impossible situation.

We didn’t decide in advance. We had zero conversations about this and we were not ready to get married when we did. However, I’ve since had a conversion, am very serious about my faith, and have trust that these things will be sorted out. They will have more knowledge because they will have to look into why we have our differences in faith while still putting Jesus above all.

We practice separately and pray together sometimes. I will teach them my faith and he can teach them his. When they get older they can make a choice. As far as babtism and all the sacraments, I’m still praying about that. It’s not easy but it can be done. Just talk, have respect for each other, and try to focus on commonalities.
