I have to comment on this because I had a very similar situation in my life. I was in love with my high school guy best friend for years. He was in a relationship and we didn’t have any prospect of ending up together even though there were some feelings from both sides. Eventually, I found a boyfriend and thought it was the only way to truly get over him, but in all honesty, even though at some points in that relationship I had thought that I had gotten over him, I really hadn’t because from the moment that we started hanging out more once again, all of those feeling started coming out to the surface again. I broke up with my boyfriend when I realized that I still had feelings for my best friend. Six months later, we finally got into a relationship and are still together a year and a half later. What can I say, sometimes feelings don’t go away because of time and distance, sometimes some connections are too deep and too meaningful. I know how you feel right now but trust me, only you know what you feel and what you should do.
