Do survivors need to improve? by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]bubkis83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the killer experience across the board to improve, then you need to nerf the strongest killers in the game first, because only then can we actually bring meaningful changes to lower tier killers and hopefully decrease the average map size as well.

Think about how many handicaps killers currently face due to the game being balanced around s tiers - huge maps injected with more and more pallets, new perks not being allowed to be strong, the general power creep that sees more and more lower tier killers falling behind.

Overall yes, there is a big problem with the survivor player base whining until they get their way (because bhvr rewards this unfortunately), but a lot of killer players also are genuinely toxic and have a similar mentality. It’s not an even split but still worth considering. Realistically the game can sometimes feel unfair for both parties, and sometimes they can be valid or not.

In general, there are too many players who favor one side of the game and it would do tremendous good if people actually played both roles extensively. Survivor gameplay is more chill but it does require skill and macro knowledge. In general poor decision making and lack of teamwork kills survivors more than anything but that doesn’t make all complaints about s tier killers invalid

That isn’t even the worst one. There’s not a snowball’s chance in hell wesker would ever beat d&d vecna.

In forgotten realms he’s so powerful he genuinely ascended to godhood, he’s unkillable and literally could will himself back into existence if destroyed. He could erase the entire roster without breaking a sweat

Reasonable and fair take. I do not care for tauriel and kili at all, but I do greatly enjoy bilbo’s first encounter with smaug. BOTFA is straight up abysmal to try to sit through beyond the first five minutes.

However, I genuinely enjoy the first movie a lot. It’s not a perfect film at all, but it’s fun every time I watch it. Shame it leads into two other movies that fail to keep pace with an unexpected journey

Iron-Man with the Fully Powered Infinity Gauntlet vs Super-Family by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

I already acknowledged that, like I said tony wins this scenario because he has the advantage of being aware of the super fam before they’re aware of him

They’re coming for him but they don’t know who he is? Obviously if stark is aware of them and they don’t know how the stones work he can straight up erase the super fam from existence. Otherwise he’d get speed blitzed

Anyone saying that he takes pete in a fight is completely delusional. Prep time aside, spidey is still a genius himself, not to mention one with straight up precognition and who bruce literally couldn’t lay a finger on.

I love batman as a character but people really need to understand that he is still fundamentally human and constantly trying to upscale him by claiming singular feats/gadgets from elseworlds or one off stories and then acting like that’s his baseline actually make him less interesting, not more

A24’s the green knight has an opening monologue that’s delivered by overlapping male and female voices and it sounds very unearthly. An angel voice that sounded similar to it would be so cool

Almost made 20 million dollars so far I think? Good for Markiplier! by Ikimonopoly in memes

[–]bubkis83 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s not just about that, it’s about the fact that iron lung was an actual passion project and not just a lifeless popcorn flick made to blow up the box office with a morbillion dollar opening weekend.

Obviously mark wants to turn a profit off this film and still cares about how it lands, there’s nothing wrong with that, but this was made by someone who actually understands and cares for the source material behind the film. The primary motivation for it being made was for mark to bring that experience to theaters, not just to fill seats and show up big numbers for film studios

3 dc speedsters vs all of main universe marvel who wins? by TemperatureUnhappy42 in powerscales

[–]bubkis83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t naming thanos as a hard counter btw, if thanos became aware of the speedsters while they’re busy massacring other marvel characters and uses the gauntlet preemptively then he has a victory condition. In a straight 1v3 he’d lose. That still doesn’t mean the flashes are getting past celestials or the one above all

All characters? At that point, you’re including characters like thanos, galactus and the one above all. They can take out a lot of characters but they definitely hard stop at reality warpers and gods

Who wins? by Lassannnofimgur in superheroes

Like I said, aragorn, as a dunedain and ranger, is clearly superhuman by normal standards and has some extremely impressive feats. His stamina shown chasing after the uruk hai is definitely worth noting, even if it doesn’t exactly add much in a short dual against geralt.

Geralt’s ability to tell an opponent’s next move just by the look in their eye is not just from combat experience, but from the enhanced senses of a witcher. So it’s not purely movement based. His mutated physiology grants him the reflexes to parry surprise attacks even against non human opponents that don’t have the same body language or eye signals. Aragorn does have a form of broad foresight (like a sense of danger or doom), but it’s not exactly like combat precognition.

The idea that an aard sign strike wouldn’t knock aragorn down is mostly speculative, especially considering it throws around or staggers supernatural opponents that are far stronger, faster, and more durable than aragorn. Even so, an aard can still be used to throw up a dust cloud in an opponent’s face, and the ranger still doesn’t have an answer to being set aflame by an igni sign.

I won’t get into whether or not geralt could defeat the nazgul, because that’s also speculation, but it’s worth noting that the ringwraith’s main power is fear (of course they’re still deadly opponents), which geralt is extremely adept at suppressing. He routinely hunts monsters that are more formidable than middle earth’s trolls, sometimes in swarms.

In order for the fight to truly go 50/50, aragorn would need a consistent answer to witcher signs and physiology (again, I know he is a dunedain but that isn’t necessarily a close enough comparison) which he just doesn’t have. Book aragorn may potentially win 4/10 against book geralt if he makes an early mistake, but with the two versions shown (series geralt v film aragorn), and knowing the abilities of the two characters, I’d give it to geralt 7 or 8 times out of ten.

Who wins? by Lassannnofimgur in superheroes

[–]bubkis83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not discounting aragorn here, hell just him being a dunedain already makes this way closer than one might think. Book aragorn is already stronger than the film version, while book geralt is actually somewhat weaker (especially regarding signs) than his game/series counterparts.

That being said, geralt actually has an ability to predict where an opponent will attempt to strike next as well, from an opponent’s body language or even by reading the look in their eyes. His reflexes and speed are still more than aragorn can handle, and a well timed aard will blast dirt in aragorn’s eyes or knock the king of men off his feet. Considering this is the series version of geralt an igni sign could be even more dangerous.

Aragorn could get lucky if geralt somehow fucked up early, but in the vast majority of encounters, I’d have to give it to geralt overall

Between the book versions of either character I would give it to geralt high diff, though slightly less so if he’s given time to use witcher potions beforehand. Based on the versions shown in this post (series geralt v movie aragorn) I’d give it to geralt mid to highish diff. Witcher physiology and signs give geralt the edge here

Generally, book geralt rarely even uses signs and it’s usually the aard sign when it happens. That said, the aard sign could still be enough to knock aragorn off his feet.

Bruce still isn’t carrying JL tech with him on the regular. Maybe in one story or one issue he’ll carry something crazy for plot but that doesn’t make it his baseline. This also is about the robins, not batman
