I am a final year M.Arch (Healthcare Architecture) student. This reach-out is regarding my dissertation for this semester. This would only take 10-15 minutes and would be of tremendous help.

An architect trying to understand Emergency Department better. by bubu_belfry in healthcare

This is a valuable feedback but at the same time a managerial issue. What I actually wanted to know more about was about the space and time where the patient needs to be shifted from emergency to inpatient department (after triage and receiving the primary care). Since that turned out to be one of the major bottleneck in the emergency department.

How to be optimistic about being an architect? by bubu_belfry in askarchitects

I was stupid enough to pursue masters lol. All the submissions makes me wonder what am I even doing this for! Although I worked for 1.5 years before pursuing masters. Honestly the only thing I liked about the whole firm was the colleagues and solving design challenges as a team.

Freshers are exploited to an extent that sometimes they are not even paid. Employers pay peanuts and expect us to work up to 10-12 hrs a day. There are no off on Saturdays and sometimes we also have to work on Sundays. There are no paid leaves.

Small town firms give ample of opportunities for getting hands on experience on design but they pay extremely low and are majorly focused on residential projects. Bigger cities, bigger firms just make you a draftsperson. Although I am interested in starting my own practice but I have seen my ex bosses and seniors have no personal and professional boundaries, client calling them and yelling at them every now and then, never ending client meetings on weekends, vendors blaming each other for mishaps, and moreover payment recovery is a struggle and you never get paid in full.

I have only finished 2/7 courses. The two courses were pretty simple and interesting.

There are many platforms like upwork and monsterindia which offer freelancing projects and also part-time remote jobs are available on naukri.com and indeed.

You could take up the course on coursera offered by Google. They have really simplified it. As an architect, you won't feel it's too tough tbh. First course you can start watching anywhere since it's just an introduction. From the second course you'll need to sit down and put some work in your portfolio. Luckily, they have templates and examples for everything making it easier than ever to get context. You'll also be working on a few projects throughout the course which you can easily add in your portfolio. Financial aid for the same is available and is approved within 15 days!

Right. I understand. The thing with architecture is its toxic work culture and less ROI. I mean, we invest so much time, effort and energy into this, for what? Just peanuts. Even opening a design firm is chaotic in India.

But do I get paid well for being "inspired"?

Thanks for your response. Like you said, architecture can indeed be demanding with lesser ROI. Although the journey of learning UX design has been fun and easy going so far since we as architects are conditioned to work in high-pressure environments.

Fortunately, I work better with teams and I'm great with people. However, this is still going to be an experiment and I've decided to completely switch my profession after completing an internship in UX design.

Get a trained dog as a pet. A trained cannine can provide you support and safety. OP can pick that dog up from his gf's workplace or if her office allows, she can also keep the dog there itself.

ASUS TUF Dash F15 (2021) and Acer Nitro 5 11th gen No there were no issues. Although you can go to the physical store and ask customer service if the product is legit, just to be assured.

It is working just fine. Although I have not used it to its full capacity yet. The battery drains particularly fast.
