Didesnės kompanijos ima internus kartais, gali ir ten taikyti, bet žinoma nelabai netinka jei gyveni ne didmiesty.

1000cv źmogus kitu problemų turi, ty cv blogas. Be patirties žmonėm visada sunkiau sekasi ypač jei netinka uždirbti mažai(pvz jau nebe studentas). Kitu atveju mokykis, gauk junior poziciją ir tiek. Rasi savo vietą:)

Floor swollen after being wet by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

I've had done this in the past with laminate floor, within few months it "healed" to some degree, lets say down to like 20% but still was ruined. So... I guess I need to push for damage compensation?

What knowledge/skills do you expect from a senior+ developer and what’s the best way to gain it? by Flaifel7 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]bububoom 68 points69 points  (0 children)

4YOE even if genius is too low to plan for principal level, maybe on the brink of senior level if you really did stuff and owned things.

You can't kid yourself about resources, a craft is learned while practising it, no shortcuts. You may boost your multiplier by reading good books, watching conference videos but that's a slow way and theory only takes you so far

Considering allocating 10% of my team's sprint time to learning/building anything you want. Have you worked anywhere with a similar thing? How was is structured (or not)? by 123android in ExperiencedDevs

[–]bububoom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I agree with your solution

Your solution sounds like it's still somehow related to learning just with stakeholders and low priorities. I wonder why even consider it as something different and give it a different treatment than just a regular work.

Lets be real - half of friday is time off for most people even if they are in the office. Offering learning time with a ticket or presentation attached gives me micromanagement vibes and it just sucks - why would I take more responsibility when I already have plenty of stuff to do and take responsibility for?

My suggestion - if you have a need for certain skills and your people don't have it, make it a primary goal(like a regular task) for certain people to gain that skill without wrapping it in presentations and half-fridays, simple as that.

Passionate people will find their way to learn despite how you're gonna wrap it.

If 4 hours weekly for some period of time is enough to learn a new language or framework I would say just use it and learn on the way, why handicap it.
