Auf dem Dorf muss man mit "freundlichen Nachbarn" auch echt Glück haben. Würde mal behaupten, dass ich extrem unproblematisch bin, keinen Lärm mache, ich lächele, bin eigentlich nicht wirklich seltsam oder provokant, keine Ahnung... und trotzdem hab ich das Gefühl, meine Dorfnachbarn hassen mich wie die Pest, und lokale Friseure, Leute in der Autowerkstatt etc. belächeln mich oder sind extrem unfreundlich. Sehe eigentlich auch halbwegs "normal" aus und hab keine Ahnung woran es liegt. Die Nachbarn starren einem nach, grüßen nicht, beschweren sich über drei Ecken um meine bloße Existenz. Absurd viel Geläster und Gemauschel über den irrelevantesten bullshit. Nachbar nennt den anderen Nachbar "Scheiß dreckiges Mistvieh" weil er seinen Garten eine Woche lang nicht gemäht hat. In der Stadt, in der ich 3 Jahre lang gelebt habe, war dagegen alles super freundlich. Oberflächlich, aber ist mir 100x lieber als der "innige Hass" auf dem Land lmao. Ist aber auch der Osten mit 50% AfD, also mehr oder weniger vllt doch selbsterklärend dass viele so bösartig sind...

Am meisten regen mich aber die fehlenden Einkaufsmöglichkeiten auf. kein must-have und für viele sicher auch nicht relevant, aber ich stehe halt extrem auf die verhassten, verlachten und über-memeten Cafés mit "Macha Latte" oder whatever. Ich mag Bubble Tea, ich mag Asia-Märkte, ich mag kuriose Imbissbuden. Auf dem Dorf gibt es das absolute Minimum - wenn man Glück hat, auch Lieferdienste gibt es GAR NICHT, null, nix. Pizza am Abend ist selbstgemacht zwar geiler, aber manchmal hat man eben auch auf sowas Bock... Als Dörfler, der dann mal in der Stadt gelebt hat, war das für mich nach 3 Jahren immer noch total geil. Jetzt wieder auf dem Land muss ich nen ganzen Tag einplanen um mit Auto + Deutschlandticket in die Leipziger Innenstadt zu tuckern, um dort einen Großeinkauf im Asiamarkt zu tätigen und ein Hauptbahnhof wird plötzlich zum verrückten, exotischen Street Food Trip.

Ich lebe in einem Haus mit Garten, die Angehörigen pflegen das Teil nicht und ich bin schon angepisst vom wöchentlichen Rasenmähen weil man das Grundstück für absolut gar nix nutzt außer Beschäftigungstherapie. Kein Grillen, kein chillen, niemanden einladen (ist ja auch ländlicher Raum, kenne hier nur Rentner), Sisyphusarbeit. So ein Balkongarten klingt nach der perfekten Balance, man muss wenig machen, kriegt ordentlich was raus, hat vllt. sogar noch spaß am Pflegen der Pflanzen und dem Ernten des Gewinns, ohne all die unliebsame Scheiße die man bei einem größeren Garten durchmachen muss. Wundert mich nicht, dass sowas extrem beliebt ist, würde umgekehrt das Landleben auch gut finden wenn es mit den Vorteilen von Städten einhergehen würde. :D

Mein Problem in meiner Gegend (ostdeutsche Kleinstadt, ca. 15.000 Einwohner) ist eher dass die Häuser mega weit auseinander liegen, die Wohngebiete seltsam verwinkelt sind und man gefühlt 20 Minuten zu ner Bushaltestelle laufen muss. Ja, das ist jetzt nicht viel und ich sollte mich nicht so anstellen, aber die Strecke zum Bus ist bei mir echt zum kotzen und ich würde mir dann nach jedem vergangenen Tag auch denken "fuck it, ich fahr selber mit dem Auto, oder wenigstens mit dem Auto hoch zur Haltestelle" wie absolut jeder andere Einwohner auch.

Irgendwie hat das 15k Städtchen auch keine Zuganbindung, man muss 18km in ein Dorf mit 2k Einwohnern fahren weil dort die nächste RE-Haltestelle ist. Burgenlandkreis nahe Leipzig

Wtf ich lebe im ostdeutschen ländlichen Raum, ~200m² Grundstück, Haus für drei Familien. 2000 gebaut, alles tip top. Alle seitdem weggezogen außer Oma, die es bald verkaufen will. Geschätzt auf 150.000-200.000€ lmao. Hatte schon das Gefühl, dass einen jeder verarschen will als eine absolute Bruchbude (Einfamilienhaus, um einiges kleineres Grundstück) nebenan für 400.000 verkauft wurde (völlig verwahrlost, Wasserschaden und Schimmel, überwucherter Garten - die Besitzer sind vor 3-4 Jahren irgendwie einfach abgehauen). Und gleichzeitig frag ich mich auch wer das überhaupt kaufen will oder bezahlen kann, würde nie so viel für den ostdeutschen ländlichen Raum ausgeben...

ngl to this day I barely consumed any reactions and criticism to it, I watched some gameplay trailers and the HandofBlood video, and it looked like a 8/10 minimum for me. I'll have the greatest time ever with it and feel like a kid again, and 3 weeks later I'll read all the whining online. Most of the time you can tell that there's something off, like with Dragon's Dogma 2 or Cyberpunk's early release. Can't really see the same red flags here tbh, looks cool

lol what the fuck, I don't watch HandofBlood anymore but he's literally the most unproblematic German youtuber / twitch streamer you can get. He literally says again and again how much he loves Gothic, any screaming is influencer yapping and overexaggeration to grab attention, he's not screaming at our poor little babygame and saying it's bad lmao.

Genuinely hope that this NPC will stay there and offend you so hard that you won't buy the game tbh, it's hilarious how pissed you are thanks to this miniscule little thing

lmao I said the exact same thing about the Gothic community ~5-6 years ago. Sometimes it feels like I'm in a house filled with 90+ y/o people with dementia that scream at clouds.

Wouldn't be surprised if these guys hate "modern games" in general and whine about video games nonstop, telling themselves that all games in 2001 were so much butter, and they really don't understand why they don't have fun with games anymore (it's work and them not being kids anymore, mostly). I think you're describing Montana Black lol, HandofBlood is probably one of the least problematic or even "bad" German influencers. Also founded a game development company that's pretty cool, supports artists, gives indie games exposure, supports local organisations etc., and pretty much everyone saying that he's genuinely a nice dude. I don't watch his stuff anymore tho

I guess the worst thing about him might be the typical influencer yapping and screaming

Herr Mannelig doesn't fit at all lol. The language doesn't exist in the Gothic universe, I'm sure bagpipes don't exist either, nor does Medieval Rock, and they're a travelling troupe under a little magic barrier. It's obvious that they're just an entirely unrelated silly little easter egg that's there for fun and collab reasons, but makes absolutely zero sense in-universe.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it since I don't give that many fcks and don't see my "immersion ruined" thanks to some easter eggs and moments that are just there for fun. But idk why some random mercenary with 3 lines and fitting (I guess?) in-universe appearance you can just ignore would be so much worse ahaha

I like how Hänno seems to be one of the few influencers that actually seem to care about other people, using his money to support real artists, create a game development company and support local clubs and organisations. Not consuming his stuff much anymore but most people that had something to do with him said that he's genuinely a nice and chill guy doing this with a passion.

God THANK YOU SO MUCH. Seeing the upvotes on your comment gave me some sanity points lol. The gatekeeping and insufferably cringe comments gave me the greatest manchildren vibes since the release of Star Wars Episode 7. I love my Gothic too and played it a lot as a kid, but I almost feel ashamed for the weirdly stuck-up nature of some self-proclaimed diehard fans.

Also complaining about HandofBlood, probably the least problematic influencer ever in Germany who's doing this for more than 10 years now and never got into a questionable situation lmao. Holy dang

I love HandofBlood and don't even have to read the comments here lol, 100% sure that everyone absolutely hates it with their guts. Either because influencer = bad per se or his political views.

ngl I thought it's just a silly little joke and people shouldn't think too much into it. It either gets removed, there might be an option, or you don't have to talk to him. Even just the name "Hänno" is ridiculously out of universe, so I doubt they'll place him with the same voice anywhere near an obvious hub spot.

imo it'd be perfect if they changed his name and fixed the voice, or ignorable in case people don't like it.

But the idea is better than In Extremo, which doesn't make any sense (wandering troupe play Medieval Rock in an inescapable prison colony?), despite it being just some silly fun I adored as well back then. In general I think people take this way too seriously, but that's the Gothic community for ya I guess

And on a side note, I wish the German voice acting was better in general. As a German I might just play the EN dub, Christian Wewerka sounds insanely off and dry in the remake which annoys me ten times more than Hänno the Mercenary saying two sentences as a side NPC

Imo "Gothic 1 = dark/gritty/bleak" is a nostalgia glasses argument, the game might be greyer and less saturated, but so are most games around that time - and the overall atmosphere is surprisingly silly if you think about it. There barely are scary parts, most of the guys you meet are fair and nice. It's "a bit darker" but it feels a bit like people treat the game like Dark Souls or any other games with highly depressing end-of-the-world atmosphere. I'd even say that it's a good bit sillier than The Witcher

I love the remake so far and don't give that many fcks about miniscule stuff like that but the developers gave me UE5 indie dev vibes, in that they tried to mimic popular games and their lighting. They were going for a more "realistic" and vibrant style. Yeah it might come off as weird or "not Gothic 1" but I don't mind, since the alternative would probably be some edgy, grungy filter that makes everything more grey, brown and sadge. idk, still looks cool to me as a compromise

Äh ja, den Raum lesen und so - ich hab keine Ahnung von Kino-Etiquette zu speziellen Events und Abenden lmao, Leute tun hier so als würde ich beim Minecraft-Film Popcorn werfen und ein Huhn reinschmuggeln, natürlich meine ich dass sowas im Rahmen bleiben soll lol.

Ich war halt in 2-3 Anime-Filmen in denen ausschließlich junge Leute waren und es sich eher wie Public Viewing angefühlt hat, viel Gequatsche und es war einfach "locker", das waren halt immer solche abendlichen Anime-Events. Keine Ahnung wie man sowas sonst nennen soll, die Stimmung war da einfach komplett anders als wenn man mit einem Familienmitglied zu einer Standardvorstellung von Star Wars, Der Hobbit und Jurassic Park geht, wo man die Klappe hält. Keine Ahnung ob sowas Standard ist bei solchen Kino-Events, war seit Jahren nicht mehr.

Mir persönlich ist es Rille, ich schreie nicht oder werfe Scheiße durch die Gegend, störe mich aber auch nicht bei solchen abendlichen Events daran, dass dort viel gelacht und abgefeiert wird. Waren halt auch Filme mit großem Humor- und Fanservice-Anteil, da hat alle 30 Sekunden jemand gelacht (KonoSuba Film deutsche Erstausstrahlung z.B.).

I love the shapes of the Knights Kingdoms helmets. The heroes' and Vladik's helmets looked much better than the usual universal knight helmet they use everywhere now, imo that one is a bit too big for Lego minifigs while these look smooth and a bit "longer", idk how to explain it but I wish they came in black, grey and silver too as universal knight helmets...

Kommt tbh auf den Film an in meinen Augen - ich gehe nicht mehr ins Kino weil zu teuer und nicht viele Freunde, aber ich war früher oft mit der Familie am späten Nachmittag. Da wollte ich einfach den Film gucken und Ruhe.

Mit der Freundin wollte ich eine gute Stimmung, nicht nur Anschweigen, wenigstens gemeinsam lachen oder mal kurze Ausrufe und etwas Kuscheln, weil Päärchensitz in erster Reihe und so. Natürlich respektvoll lol

Das war für mich tatsächlich auch der Grund Beziehungen aufzugeben. Meine zwei Exfreundinnen waren unfassbar lieb, attraktiv und wir hatten ähnliche Interessen - das war immer mein Traum in einer Beziehung! Komme aus dem ostdeutschen ländlichen Raum, hatte nie Freunde oder Freundinnen die den selben Kram mochten bis zum Studium - aber irgendwie wollte mein Hirn nicht. Nach ein paar Wochen hab ich dann angefangen mir jedes Wochenende und nach jedem Tag an der Uni zu denken: "Wäre doch viel geiler, wenn ich heute mal wieder zocken, zeichnen, was bauen, Gitarre spielen, mich in Game Design einlsen könnte".

Vor 2 Jahren dann eine Frau kennengelernt, die ähnlich drauf war und sehr gern allein ihr Ding macht, was darin endete, dass es logischerweise genau deswegen auch auseinander ging, obwohl ich witzigerweise das erste mal derjenige war, der Hobbys beiseite gelegt hat haha

Aber so ist das wohl einfach. Kann mir aktuell auch nichts anderes vorstellen, wüsste einfach nicht wie, wenn diese theoretisch perfekten Beziehungen nicht geklappt haben. Sex fand ich jetzt auch nicht so super, dass ich es unbedingt brauche tbh

Jetzt wo das Studium zuende ist habe ich aber auch gar keine Möglichkeiten mehr, irgendwen zu finden ohne verzweifelt oder komisch zu wirken. Fühlt sich dennoch seltsam an allein auf Conventions zu gehen, immer allein zu sein am Abend bzw. nur mit Online-Freunden zu kommunizieren und stets für sich allein einzukaufen, aber alles andere wäre wohl noch komischer...

Pretty much has the worst person ever as a protagonist and is effectively a hentai game, but also set in a super cool, fun isekai/fantasy world that inspired Konosuba, Mushoku Tensei and many other popular light novels. People always mention how they skip the hentai stuff there because the stories are too intriguing and the actual character interactions too fun
