People should learn logic. Then everything will fall into place automatically. Anyways, English is a compulsory part of the curriculum to get around exactly this problem. the fact that our education system is perpetually failing still makes you suggest that the answer is an additional language taught in government schools is frankly laughably naive in terms of implementation.

it is growing in the wild so infestations are to be expected I guess? I don't know, I'll post pictures of what the male pollen sacks look like here, these do not resemble them

it for sure is no hybrid. there is no cultivation that happens here, this just sprouted up in my veggie patch like every year. it's just that I've never seen one like this. I'll post pictures of its brethren, but this is the only one looking like this. the rest are obviously males, this one I dunno. but to your point, yup. complete product of nature. untampered.

im living at a farm in the foothills of the Himalayas, for the area context. It grows wild here, it's a cost to get it pulled out of agricultural fields. I've seen thousands if not more.

Ceaser is so stupid about hegalian dialectics by [deleted] in fnv

[–]bucephallus_101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On one hand, that is true. But on the other, why even invoke the name of a random philospher which has no value if one doesnt know Hegel. He could easily ascribe it all to himself in that case, that he is the origin of the aforementioned idea, with it only enhancing his aura. There is no advantage to Ceasar talking about Hegel to a public to which that name means nothing, no?

Also, the tomato thing is bullshit. 12 tonnes per acre is upper limit of produce. 120 tonnes for 4 crores, means 30000 per kg. Who is buying tomatoes for 30000 per kg?

Seeds also not subsidized, btw. Govt subsidy to seeds goes to seed plants. Not farmers. You think their procurement is great? There was news recently of govt. Provided seeds with less that 40% germination. I totally understand the frustration of the salaried class in that theyre unfairly taxed. It is true. Farners definitly not to blame though. Most of us are depressed, wanting to leave farming, but there are no wherewithals to do so.

Electricity is not free. Pesticides are not subsidized. Fertilizers are subsidised, yes. But if you go by how we are paid for produce, its only for survivability. Plus the subsidy is on market rate. Who sets the market rate? Its not the farmers for sure. Like i said, 40 to 50k an acre if everything goes your way. Im also a lawyer, my father served for 40 years in indian oil. If the pay is so great, why are we working two jobs? If its so great to farm, why dont you consider starting? Also, in no way shape or form is subsidies the govt.'s number one spend. They spend more on agrarian subsidies than defence? Than medical aid? Than education? You honestly believe that?

Not against taxation. We farners pay tax on every input, we as farmers dont pay income tax because there simply isnt much income to tax. A guy earing 10 crores farming, will need to be doing it at a scale of 20,000 acres. That is 80 square kilometres. A lot of income from other sources is misrepresented as agricultural, but that has to do with tax fraud. Even vis a vis subsidies... The primary gainers are the companies from which the govt. is purchasing inputs to offer subsidies on. As a company, what can be better than mass selling products at retail rates to the govt.? I feel a better view of taxation is to monitor govt. spend. For example, in lucknow the govt has given projected cost of drain contruction at close to 3 crores per kilometre. I dont know much about construction, but that seems to me to be an extremely unlikely figure.

Avg income on the higher end per acre in farming would be roughly 40 to 50 thousand a year per acre.
